Today marks one year since our special Atarah was taken from us in the most unimaginable way. A year since our world was shaken by sudden and tragic loss—a loss that continues in our hearts, and our memories.
In some ways, it feels like it happened only yesterday. The pain remains raw, the questions still unanswered. Despite the dedication from investigators and a substantial R500,000 reward offered by her father, no progress has been made in her case. There was no forced entry into her house that day. No signs of theft, valuable items like laptops, phones, and car keys were left untouched. So many theories have been discussed, it makes one’s head spin.
Atarah’s death was a deeply personal loss for us all. Although it was an isolated incident, it has touched every one of us at Warriors Academy—students, staff, friends, and the wider community. The pain of not knowing, of not having closure, leaves us with no peace.
But today, and every day, we remember Atarah not for the way she left us, but for the incredible person she was. Her warmth, her passion, her compassion, and her spirit will never be forgotten.
We miss you deeply, Tara. You are loved beyond words and remembered beyond measure.
With love and remembrance,
The Warriors Team
