What better way to start thinking about your future than by experiencing university life first-hand? 🌱💡

As part of the 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒓𝒔@𝑴𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒔 initiative by Centre for Student Recruitment, Grade 9 learners from 45 schools visited Stellenbosch University for an exciting on-campus experience. The programme brought together the top 10 learners from each participating school, giving them an opportunity to explore different environments, cultures, fields of study and possibilities that university can offer.

From discovering new spaces to engaging with the Stellenbosch community, the day was all about 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑝𝑖𝑟𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑔 𝑚𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑡𝑜 𝑑𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑚 𝑏𝑖𝑔, 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑙𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑡𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑘𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑢𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑓𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑏𝑢𝑖𝑙𝑑.💫

We were excited to welcome these young learners to our Faculty and give them a glimpse into the fascinating worlds of 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 showcasing how science, innovation, agriculture and sustainability come together to shape the future of food, wine and plant production. 🍇🍷🌱

Who knows? Some of today's curious learners could be tomorrow's Maties! 💚

Meet 𝐔𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚 𝐃𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐮𝐝𝐞, a current BSc Forestry and Wood Sciences student who matriculated from Stanger Manor secondary School in KwaDukuza, KwaZulu-Natal.
