St. Catherine's Nursery School - Selcourt, Springs

This past Friday, our little bakers had so much fun! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 As part of our theme of wild animals, the children baked and decorated their very own lion faces. 🦁💛

At St. Catherine’s, our Fridays are extra special as we alternate between Baking, Bible Time and Show & Tell — each one giving our children an opportunity to learn, grow and have fun in their own unique way. 🌟

👩‍🍳 Baking encourages children to follow instructions, develop fine-motor skills, explore early maths and science concepts, and build confidence and independence.

📖 Bible Time helps our children learn important values such as kindness, love, compassion and respect, while strengthening their understanding of our Christian ethos.

🗣️ Show & Tell encourages children to speak confidently, improve their language skills and broaden their vocabulary, express themselves, listen to others and share their thoughts and experiences with their friends.

We believe that learning happens in so many different ways — and sometimes the best lessons are the ones covered in a little flour! 🤭🍰

🐿️ Squirrels Class – 4–5 year olds (Grade RR)
🐰 Bunnies Class – 5–6 year olds (Grade R)

The children at St. Catherine's had the wonderful opportunity to meet some adorable four-legged (and feathered) farm friends yesterday! 😁

As part of this week's theme, "The Farm," the children learnt all about different farm animals and had the exciting opportunity to interact with these amazing creatures. 🐰🐷🐥🦆🐔🐑🐐 It was a fun-filled, hands-on learning experience that brought their classroom theme to life! 👩‍🌾🧑‍🌾

The children and staff at St. Catherine's would like to extend a special thank you to The Farm Animal Show for such a wonderful, educational, and engaging experience. Your energy, kindness, and enthusiasm made the day truly memorable, and it was enjoyed by both the children and the staff. 😁
