SOFTBALL INTERHOUSE 2026

What an exciting day of fun, teamwork and friendly competition at our softball interhouse 2026!

The games brought plenty of energy and excitement, with our girls giving their best on the field.

It was challenging at times, but most importantly, everyone had fun and showed great sportsmanship.

Final Results:

3rd Place: Frost
Overall Tie: Abbott & Campbell

D5 Chess Tournament Highlights

Our talented chess learners proudly represented Springs Girls’ High School at the D5 Chess Tournament, showcasing determination, skill and a true competitive spirit. It was a wonderful opportunity for our players to gain valuable experience, challenge themselves and engage with fellow chess players from across the district.

A special congratulations to our U/19 girls, Mnguni Nqobile and Masilo Seshoka, who had an outstanding day on the board, winning all the games they played.

We are proud of all our chess players for their commitment, sportsmanship and dedication to the game. Keep making your school proud!

We celebrated Women's Day at a special assembly on Friday 7 August. To mark the occasion, each learner voiced her strength and support of her peers by adding a sunflower petal to her grade's flower, pledging her commitment to making a positive difference in the SGHS community and beyond.

They have done it again!

Congratulations to Tshiamo Moremi and Zinhle Lushaba who have made it through to the Provincial Round of National Moot Court Competition.

We are proud of their achievements.

Edufleek Continental School Quiz

On 6 August, 6 of our learners participated in the first round of the Edufleek Continental School Quiz for 2026. Learners were asked a range general knowledge and syllabus content-based questions. Our competitors performed exceptionally. We are proud to announce that two of our learners, Similar Dlani (gr 11) and Mutsa Mbuqe (gr 10) will progress to the national level.
