Today, we gathered as a faithful community to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary through the sacred tradition of the Crowning of Mary. This cherished Marist ritual reminds us of Mary’s humility, faith and unwavering devotion to God’s will. May her example continue to inspire us to live lives of service, compassion and hope.

Nothing beats the desire for self improvement and the discipline to action on it.

One boy with his rugby ball working hard to improve his skills.

In moments like these we are reminded what it’s about love of the game, honing your skills and having fun while doing it. This is the Spirit of Inanda in its purest form.

The basketball courts at St David’s came alive as coaches from the US Government-sponsored International Sports Program Initiative visited as part of their reciprocity exchange. After a warm meet and greet with the school executive and a tour of the campus, the group headed to the courts to host an engaging clinic for the boys.

The visit was also a special moment for St David’s coach Khanya Nomwa, who proudly welcomed the international coaches to campus. Earlier in January, he had participated in the same exchange program, spending two weeks in Atlanta, Georgia, where he attended a coaching course and gained valuable insights. This return visit highlighted the strength of the partnership and the shared commitment to developing both players and coaches.

The session blended skill development with inspiration, as learners worked on drills while learning about teamwork, discipline, and confidence. The coaches also created a fun atmosphere with interactive activities, including an exciting one-on-one challenge that had everyone cheering and fully involved.

The impact of the day was clear, captured in a message from one grateful parent:

“Hey coach,
Hope you having a good evening.
I just wanted to tell you ....
Liam can’t stop talking about the training session with the American coaches today.
He absolutely loved it.
Thank you.”

A sincere thank you to everyone who made this memorable clinic possible—from the visiting coaches to the school community who embraced the experience.
