We proudly celebrate Queen Basani Nghonyama, recipient of the Crown of Rural Innovation & Enterprise Award. 👑✨
Basani is dedicated to tackling unemployment and limited economic opportunities, particularly among young people, by encouraging entrepreneurship, leadership and sustainable income generation.
Through mentorship, business presentations and one-on-one coaching, she has positively impacted more than 100 people, helping aspiring entrepreneurs take their first steps toward building independent futures.
Her journey is rooted in one powerful belief: empowering one person can change the future of an entire family.

Her humanitarian work addresses grief after tragedy, youth vulnerability, social fragmentation, generational trauma, and the stigma around mental wellness.
One journey that captures her impact is walking alongside a young widow from deep grief to renewed purpose—helping her transform pain into healing, resilience and strength to support others.
Queen Violet’s legacy is one of communities that rise above adversity with dignity and create cycles of healing, empowerment and hope.
