Play Sense

Dinosaurs 🦕 has to be one of my most favourite themes! So much fun to be had 🤩

At Play Sense we learn to help each other, one little friend helping the other to get dressed as a chef 👨‍🍳 and then we practise taking turns to act out the role of chef and customer 🙌💓

When it’s this hot - there’s only one thing to do 💦 💦 💦

This week has been so much fun 🤩 our new theme is The Sky and the focus this week is on the weather. We had fun playing on a ‘rainy’ (hosepipe) day, created a rain-making station, today we had a sunny weather ‘beach’ day and made lots of sandcastles, puff paint ice cream art and yummy ice lollies for snack time 🏖🌈☔️

Cocoa powder, flour and oil ‘mud’ to play with our rainbow spaghetti worms 🪱

Chia seed slime sensory play 😍

This week our BUG THEME will be focused on Spiders 🕷
Our songs, art, imaginary play and sensory play will be centred around these eight-legged creatures. Tomorrow we’ll be starting with this fun string play and fine motor activity

Sensory play - Rice Krispies and plastic bugs 🐛🐜🐞 incorporating language development by playing eye spy and practising our colours and growing our vocabulary.

Sensory play and learning fun is good for any age! Today we learned about the butterfly life cycle using different shaped pastas 🦋 Then my older (primary school age niece) insisted on learning to cook pasta today because it looked so pretty. Mermaid 🧜‍♀️ pasta for lunch 🤤

It’s Butterfly week - so of course that means we’ll be reading ’The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ 🐛

Today, we will be saving the bees hidden in the sand and returning them to the safety of their (eggbox) hive 💓

And having fun making honey using pollen (sago) and nectar (yellow water) 🐝
