The SA Institute of Maths and Technology will be hosting an Awards Ceremony for the Top performing schools and Learners in our recent Mathematics Competitions. The event will be held at the Vosloorus Civic Centre on the 29 September 2022 as from 09h00 to 16h00.

Our Mathematics Competitions kick off this week when schools reopen. Members of our Institute will be visiting all the SSIP Schools in the Ekurhuleni South District of The Gauteng Department of Education to collect names of learners that will be participating in our Mathematics Competitions. This is our Time Schedule of our implementation programme for this project.

Celebrating Excellence in teaching!!! At our school's Award Ceremony for outstanding Matric Results for the Class of 2021 and 12 Distinctions. Congratulations to these hardworking teachers. You deserved to be honoured in this way!!!

I am proud to announce that our Institute has produced 12 distinctions in Mathematics! Thank you so much, guys. Wish you all the best in your tertiary studies!!

Our 2022 Matric Upgrade Programme as well as Maths & Science Extra Classes for Grades 5 to 12 registration process starts on Monday, 10 January 2022. Matric Upgrade Programme Subjects we are catering for are Mathematics, Physical Science, Mathematical Literacy, Life Science, Accounting, Business Studies, Economics and English.

Classes are conducted at the Department of Social Development Building (SASSA) in Vosloorus

My teacher, my mentor, my eternal inspiration!!! The late Dr TW Kambule. One of the best Mathematicians this country has ever produced. Former Orlando High Headmaster and Mathematics Lecturer at Wits University. It is no wonder Wits Department of Mathematics was renamed TW Kambule School of Mathematics. It was a great experience to me to have worked with him in various Mathematics promotion projects in the 1980's and mid '90s. I will be forever grateful to him.

The Department of Basic Education is looking for 5 Maths students who achieved Level 5 or above in Mathematics for an overseas BEd Scholarship Programme in the People's Republic of China next year. The SA Institute for Maths and Technology has been approached by a leading Cape Town based Education Publisher to host an FET School Mathematics Textbook Writing Competition. Only Grade 12 School Maths Learners and University BEd or PGCE Maths student teachers are legible to take part in this Competition. They will be given a topic on, for example, functions, Euclidean Geometry or any other Maths Topic for Grade 10 to 12 Maths to write a module about that topic. The winners will have their modules used as chapters in their new Maths textbook that will be published next year. If you are interested or know of any other person who may be interested in this project please contact me as soon as possible. Competition age limit is 30 years or younger.
