Focus on Alumnus Yasmin Ghadamian who is studying Law at York University in the UK:

Our next college sport profile comes again from Women's Football - this time Halifax's Yasmin Ghadamian!

How did you get involved in your sport?
I got involved at a really young age, started doing it just for the sake of having to do it for school but then after a few practises I fell in love and just loved the entire vibe of playing the sport and being part of an amazing team!

Why do you play sport?
I play it because I adore being involved, I love being fit and being part of something with a group of people who share the same passion as I do for playing all the sports that I do. It’s also a great way to just get away from stress and work, for 2hours or so you’re just totally consumed by something off the topic of what’s stressing you out!

Why should more girls get involved in sport?
I think girls should get more involved in sports because it opens up a whole new world l, it’s not only a great way to stay healthy and fit but it’s also an opportunity to meet new people, develop a passion or a skill, you get to spend your time doing something fun and something that can bring you a lot of happiness!

It's always a pleasure for us to be visited by our alumni. Yesterday, Class of 2017 alumnus Siesta paid us a suprise visit. She caught up with Mr Hammond and shared that she spent a year in the US last year as an aupair. She is now back in the country pursuing her passion in children and youth development, working as camp counsellor at one of the leading holiday camp venues.

Yesterday our Matric Dance Committee (MDC) hosted a Mother and Daughter Breakfast. The girls took wonderful took ownership of the event by decorating the tables as well as looking after their guests. Thanks to the leadership of Mrs Lomé Robertson & Mrs Marli Oosthuizen, the morning was not only about building relationships but it challenged thoughts about raising a girl child.
