Heritage Day with Ikhaya LikaBaba Orphanage 🧡

This Heritage Day, Bub Club & Dr. Payal Sewmungal had the privilege of spending the day at Ikhaya LikaBaba Orphanage.

For us, giving back means so much more than just earthly goods. It means showing up, spending time, sitting down to hear their stories, holding their little hands, and encouraging their little hearts.

We laughed, we listened, we shared, and we left with our hearts so full.

A heartfelt thank you to for welcoming us with such warmth and love, and for allowing us to be part of your story, even if just for a day. You inspire us more than you know.

Also, a big shout out to Joyful Art for spending the morning with us and painting these little ones faces. Your work is really amazing!

What an incredible day!

We had the most wonderful time connecting with so many beautiful moms, dads, and little ones - and being surrounded by a community of people who are just as passionate about supporting families as we are.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Bub Club stand. Your warmth and excitement reminded us exactly why we do what we do. 🥹

Sometimes the best sensory toys are already all around us!

Letting your baby safely explore different textures with their feet (soft sand, grass, water and evendifferent surfaces at home) gives them new sensory experiences while they play and explore.

And every reaction is part of the fun! Some textures might get an immediate “NOPE”, while others become their new favourite thing.

It’s all about giving them the freedom to explore, play and discover the world one tiny step at a time.🌱

Infant massage is a lovely way for both moms and dads to support bonding and relaxation, and may even help soothe common tummy discomforts like gas.

And you can make it part of your routine at home! Find a warm, comfortable space when baby is calm and alert, and use slow, gentle strokes on their little legs, feet, arms and back.

Most importantly, follow baby's lead. If they’re relaxed and enjoying it, keep going. If they become fussy, turn away or seem uncomfortable, you can always stop and try again another time.

It doesn’t have to be perfect - it’s simply another opportunity to slow down, connect and enjoy a little quality time together.🐣

This week we took our Mummy & Me class outside!🌿

We explored the garden with our noses, discovering everything it had to offer - the scent of flowers and herbs to the tiny creatures living among the leaves.

And while it felt like a simple walk, so much learning was happening. Smell is one of the most powerful senses for brain development. It supports memory, emotional regulation, and language in ways that are truly remarkable for little developing minds.

Our parents also left with easy, practical scent play ideas they can do at home to keep the learning going.🦔
