Day 9: Fasting and Praying

God's Time is the Best!!!

God's timing is perfect. Consider Hannah's story: she prayed persistently for a child, and God eventually blessed her with Samuel (1 Samuel 1-2).

Sometimes, God tests our patience, but we must continue praying without doubt. We serve a living God who is always working, even when we can't see it.

Allow God to work in your life, even when faced with challenges or criticism. Remember:

David's Story
- He was an unlikely hero, a shepherd who defeated Goliath (1 Samuel 17).
- People doubted him, thinking he wasn't a skilled warrior.
- But David trusted God, saying, "The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine" (1 Samuel 17:37).

Key Takeaways
- Trust God's timing, even when faced with delays or challenges.
- Continue praying persistently, without doubt.
- Allow God to work in your life, and don't be discouraged by criticism or setbacks.

Supporting Verses
1. "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." - Psalm 27:14
2. "For God's ways are higher than ours, as the heavens are higher than the earth." - Isaiah 55:9
3. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." - Proverbs 3:5

Day 8: Fasting and Praying

Focus on the Finishing Line

"You can't win the race while looking back." Keep your head high, stay focused, and press forward!

Winning requires:

Effort
Exercising your faith through prayer and devotion
Training
Disciplining yourself to stay on track
Discipline
Persevering through challenges and setbacks

Remember, your competitors (distractions, doubts, and fears) are lurking, waiting to derail your progress. Stay vigilant!

As a Christian, apply these principles:

1. *Never skip prayer*: Stay connected with God, your source of strength. (Luke 18:1 - "Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.")
2. *Do good, don't retaliate*: Keep doing good, even when faced with challenges or opposition. (Romans 12:21 - "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.")
3. *Work diligently*: Put in the effort required to achieve your goals. (Colossians 3:23 - "Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.")
4. *Practice financial discipline*: Prioritize needs over wants, and avoid overspending. (Proverbs 22:7 - "The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.")
5. *Stay focused*: Keep your eyes on the prize, and take it one step at a time. (Philippians 3:14 - "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.")

Takeaway
Break your goals into smaller, manageable steps. Celebrate each victory, and stay committed to your journey.
