Leadership Development

Lifework Leadership is a transformative nine month leadership programme that runs from February to October. Sessions include teaching from nationally known speakers, case studies with prominent business people, literary discussion and practical life application. Each session examines the life of Jesus as the best example of leadership and is carefully crafted to engage lead

“Gratitude sees the blessing. Generosity moves the blessing.”

This past week’s session on GENEROSITY challenged us to think beyond financial giving toward a deeper understanding of whole-life generosity.

Jesus did not avoid the topic of wealth, He addressed it directly. Through His teaching and example, He painted a picture of a world where generosity unshackles chains, meets needs, restores dignity and creates joy.

Mathilda Fourie’s journey from the corporate world into community transformation at Vastfontein reminded us what generosity looks like when purpose becomes service.

Christian Trumpelmann challenged us with the tension of generosity in the marketplace, and what it means to truly build businesses that serve something greater than profit alone.

Wikus Olivier gave us a powerful picture:
Don’t become a reservoir that merely stores blessing.
Become a river through which blessing can flow to others.

Perhaps that is the deeper invitation of leadership:

To live with open hands.
To steward rather than possess.
To become people through whom life, opportunity, wisdom, hope, and generosity can move freely into the lives of others.

What does generosity look like in leadership, business and everyday life?

At our next Lifework Leadership session, we will explore generosity not merely as giving, but as a way of leading, building, stewarding and living with others in mind.

We are privileged to learn from leaders who have embodied generosity in business, community transformation, leadership development and life.

Looking forward to welcoming:
• Mathilda Fourie
• Wikus Olivier
• Christian Trumpelmann

These events continue to remind us that leadership is not only about influence or success, but about the kind of people we are becoming along the journey.

Last night, one of our Lifework Leadership teams had the privilege of investing into postgraduate students at Tukkies as part of their monthly social engagement.

Over soup, warm bread, coffee, and meaningful conversation, leaders and students connected around life, leadership, calling, and the future of work.

What stood out most was how energised our own team felt afterwards. There is something deeply life-giving about giving back, creating space for connection, and investing into others.

Leadership is often shaped in simple moments of presence, conversation, and genuine care.

Lifework alumni... we would love to see you again.

Join us for a special open session on Compassion as we gather once more as the Commissioned Community to reconnect, reflect, and continue the journey together.

In a world that often rewards pressure and performance, compassion remains one of the most powerful qualities of healthy leadership.

What a memorable Lifework Leadership session.

Set against the backdrop of the Voortrekker Monument, the day carried a unique sense of perspective. From walking through history to hearing the cannon fire echo across the grounds.

Moments like these remind us that leadership is not only about what we build today, but the legacy we leave behind and the relationships we build in the process.

Grateful for the space, the conversations, and the journey we’re all on together.

This month’s Lifework Leadership Pretoria session on Relationships was both meaningful and deeply practical.

We were reminded that leadership is not only about strategy or performance: it is about people.

Bes Liebenberg shared the importance of connection before correction.

Newton Baloyi offered rich insight into building inclusive organisations, showing how Kingdom values can shape the way we lead and build businesses in the marketplace.

Christa de Wet reminded us that transformation starts with us, and challenged us to go out and love people well and to truly see people for who they are.

We were incredibly privileged to host this session at the Voortrekkermonument. Being taken on a guided tour through such a significant historical space, and experiencing the cannon firing, added a unique and memorable dimension to the day.

What an honour to gather, learn, and grow in a place that carries such a strong sense of history and legacy.

Grateful for the leaders in the room and the journey we are on together.

This month, Lifework Leadership Pretoria turns its focus to a theme that sits at the centre of all leadership:

Relationships.

In a world driven by performance, pace, and outcomes, it is easy to overlook what ultimately sustains organisations and leaders over time.

Jesus modelled a different way. A way rooted in intentional relationships, patience, and genuine care for people.

This session will invite leaders to reflect:

💡 Are we building systems or building people?
💡 Do we lead for results or through relationships?
💡 What kind of environments are we creating?

Because long-term impact is rarely a strategy problem.

It is often a relationship one.

As leadership responsibility grows, so does the need for deeper wisdom, reflection and formation.

Lead with responsibility, lead with purpose, lead with Kingdom impact.

One of the challenges many leaders face when considering postgraduate study is not the desire: 𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.

Relocating abroad, stepping away from leadership responsibilities, and the associated costs often make it difficult to pursue further study at this stage of life.

Through the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁, participants in the 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝗵𝗮𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗶𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 (𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮) benefit from a 𝟯𝟯% 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, making this internationally accredited Master’s degree more accessible, without compromising its academic integrity.

For leaders who are ready to grow, but cannot step away from what they are already leading, this creates a meaningful pathway forward.

If this is something you’ve considered before, feel free to reach out.

This year’s Lifework Leadership Breakaway brought together three groups of leaders. Each at a different stage of the journey, yet united by a shared desire to lead with purpose, integrity, and faith.

Across these days, something profound happened: the gap between Sunday faith and Monday work began to close.

Leaders reflected on what it means to live out their beliefs not only in worship spaces, but in boardrooms, organisations, marketplaces, and everyday decisions.

Strangers became companions, conversations became catalysts, and individual stories became part of a larger story of transformation.

Leadership formation does not happen in isolation. It happens in community. It happens across industries, generations, and spheres of influence. It happens as leaders learn to integrate who they are, what they believe, and how they lead. It happens as leaders learn to integrate work, worship and service (Avodah).

As participants return to their organisations, families, churches, and cities, they carry renewed clarity, deeper relationships, and a strengthened commitment to serve faithfully in their sphere of influence.

We are grateful for each person represented here and look forward to the fruit of this time unfolding far beyond the Breakaway.
