TYPES OF EGGS BASED ON PRODUCTION METHOD

Egg production methods reflect how hens are raised and cared for, influencing everything from farming ethics to nutritional profiles. Consumers often choose based on environmental concerns, animal welfare, or taste preferences.

Cage-free eggs – Laid by hens that roam indoors without cages, offering more freedom of movement. These chickens are usually housed in large barns with bedding and nesting areas.

Free-range eggs – From hens that not only live cage-free but also have access to the outdoors. The time spent outside varies by farm, affecting egg quality and flavor.

Organic eggs – Produced by hens fed with organic feed, free from synthetic additives and pesticides. These birds are also cage-free and have outdoor access, raised under strict regulations.

Conventional eggs – Laid by hens kept in battery cages with controlled diets and lighting. Though cost-effective, this method often raises concerns about animal welfare and sustainability.

Each method shapes farming practices and consumer choices worldwide.
