POSTGRADUATE ASSOCIATION
SHOW OF INTEREST IN EXCUTIVE POSITIONS 2018
The DUT Postgraduate Association invites interested Postgraduate Students to show interests in the available positions in the Executive cadre of the association. The positions include:
1. President: presides over the running of the Association and acts as the spokesperson for the Association.
2. Vice-President: Provides support to President and undertakes all duties necessary for the day-to-day administration of the Association during any absence of the President.
3. Secretary: Acts as the contact point for the Association, collects incoming mails (where appropriate) and distributes it to the appropriate Executives.
4. Liaison Officer: Liaise with all members of the Association in their respective faculties and promote the postgraduate culture within faculties.
5. Faculty Representatives (6): Deal with academic and administrative issues specifically related to postgraduate students in their respective Faculties.
6. International Students’ Rep (Postgrad): Deals with academic and administrative issues related to international postgraduate students and liaises with all the Faculty Representatives of the Association and the DUT International Students Organization.
7. Project Officer: Prepares projects proposals, defines the project scope, goals and deliverables that support the project aimed at uplifting the needs and desires of all postgraduate students in the university in collaboration with external, internal and individual stakeholders or stand-alone projects.
8. Residence Students' Representative: Deals with academic and administrative issues related to postgraduate students in residences and liaises with the Association Executives.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Should you be interested in any of the above position, please send a mail to [email protected] stating your intent.
2. Please note that a Representative is needed from each of the six (6) faculties in DUT.
3. Kindly show your interests on or before 1st May 2018.

UPDATES ON DUT POSTGRADUATE SOCIAL WEEK (22-24 AUGUST 2017)

Dear Colleagues,

This is an update on the upcoming DUT Postgraduate Social Week. Kindly pass on the message as much as you can. Please see attached poster.

ASAKHE IKUSASA PROJECT (22 AUGUST)
The Asakhe Ikusasa Project is our Community Engagement Project. The places we hope to visit are all in Inanda. Transport has been arranged and strictly based on RSVP. RSVP closes on the 19 August 2017. Departure will be from Gate 1, Steve Biko Campus. Detailed information regarding movement and time will be sent only to those who have RSVP'd on the 20th of August 2017. Please check earlier post for details on RSVP.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING & INTERACTIVE SESSION (23 AUGUST)
The venue for this program is the DUT Hotel School and Conference Centre on Ritson Campus. This event is open to all. Program begins at 9am and ends by 1pm. Refreshments will be served. Note that DVC: Research, Innovation and Engagement will be present as well as the Director: Research and Postgraduate Support Directorate. This is an avenue to interact and discuss Postgraduate issues with the authority.

PICNIC & SPORTS DAY (24 AUGUST)
The venue for this program is the DUT Sports Centre, Steve Biko Campus. Program begins by 9am. Refreshments will be served. There are also a lot of gifts to be won. ​
