The Anthony Aston Players is a service organization founded to support the University Theater. We meet Mondays at 4pm in the Ring Theatre!

AAP is a service organization founded to support the University Theatre, which we do in a variety of ways - such as helping at work calls, organizing weekly meetings, helping with publicity, selling concessions, organizing the annual banquet, and being regularly involved in every aspect of our theatre's productions. One of the most important ways in which we serve the theatre is being a social org

Andrew Wilson (Sam) is a first-year student from Marietta, Georgia, and is very excited to be a part of Orion with such an amazing group of people. This is Andrew’s first college show, but he has been in Aladdin Jr, Beetlejuice Jr, and Newsies in high school. Outside theater, he is an active member of the Spirit of the Old Gold and Black marching band as well as the Equestrian team and he loves all things literature and Doctor Who. Andrew is so grateful to have gotten to work with such a supportive and skilled cast and crew and is so excited for the next four years with them and he would especially like to shout out Jane Ivey for telling him to audition and Jay Remenih for getting him into theater in the first place. Thank you to everyone for all the work that went into this production!

Let’s hear it for this week’s Human of AAP: JM STOWERS 🦩🦩🦩🦩

HI AAP!! I’m JM Stowers (also known as Jam, John Mark, JMS if you’re Miss Tina, and John if you’re the government). I’m a sophomore from Raleigh, NC and a Prez Scholar in Dance 🕺 Since the last time I was human of AAP (my freshman year), I’ve had many a crisis (including a career crisis) and finally landed at a double Psychology and Theatre Major (i’ve been successfully incoctrinated), and a Dance Minor. If you somehow haven’t seen me passed out in the Scales lobby, then you might have seen me: downing Martinis in MCM, praying to not hit people with the Wall in LANDI, ripping my pants in Radium Girls, burning myself with hot glue making props for The Tempest, getting waterboarded in The Marriage Proposal, or showcasing my gold tap shoes in the Spring Dance Concert. Yes, I’ve worked on 12 shows this year. No, I don’t sleep (ask Bennett). I will be abroad with Kevin in the fall which is sad because I’ll miss AAP but happy because I’ll literally be IN LONDON. WITH KEVIN FRAZIER. I also run Can’t Stop the Beat!, which is a really cool musical theatre dance club you should totally talk to me about and show up to… or else… 🔪 I’m a Sheetz enthusiast, asthmatic, BookToker, Mario Kart champion, and a serial yapper (see the word count of this bio).

Let’s hear it for this (last) week’s Human of AAP: MELINDA CHEATHAM 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Hey everyone!! My name is Melinda and I’m a junior from Orlando, Florida! I’m an Environmental Science major and a Theatre and Dance double minor. At Wake, I’ve loved the opportunity to be involved in theatre through The Three Sisters, Silent Sky, Witness for the Prosecution, and Urinetown! Aside from theatre, I adore animals and am hoping to pursue a career in endangered species rehabilitation! I also love singing, swimming, iced coffee, traveling, and spending time with friends! I love AAP!!!!
