🔦 Learning Early Science Concepts in a Fun Way! ☀️

Class 5 had some fun experimenting with light and shadows today! Our learners worked together to trace and draw their classmates’ shadows, turning a simple activity into an exciting science experiment. 👥✏️

This hands-on activity helped develop early science skills, fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and hand-eye coordination — all while having fun and learning through play! 🌟

Even Uncle Jabu joined in the fun. 🕺🏾

Unica School – Natural Science in Action
In Unica’s Natural Science class, learning comes alive through simple yet powerful experiments. A glowing light bulb powered by a handmade circuit, a seed sprouting in the garden, or water transforming into steam — each moment is a story of discovery.

For our learners, science is not just theory; it is hands‑on exploration that builds confidence and curiosity. Every experiment teaches resilience, sparks imagination, and shows that the world around us is full of patterns waiting to be understood.

Unica School Boys Shine at the Latte Art Competition at Fourways. 🧩☕

Today, six of our Unica School Barista learners,three from the Exit Phase and three from the Senior Phase, proudly represented the school at the Special Needs Schools Barista Latte Art Throwdown Competition, hosted by Unity College and DaCappo Barista Academy.🌈☕

Our boys participated with enthusiasm, confidence and determination. The competition provided them with a valuable opportunity to showcase their barista skills while learning more about coffee preparation, latte art, presentation, creativity and professional barista techniques.

We are extremely proud of the way our learners conducted themselves throughout the competition as this was their 1st competition. They demonstrated teamwork, perseverance, and a willingness to learn from other participants and industry professionals.

Spar retailers, Special Olympics and many other Special schools around Jonannesburg sponsored and supported the Day and made it a success.

You did us proud, Boys! ☕👏🏽
