Start your reset⬇️ Hi. I'm Alida. And honestly? For years, I'd been someone's mum.
I was 51 when I was retrenched (for the second time). I wasn't that devastated about the job. What floored me was something quieter. I realised I had no idea who I was without it. Someone's colleague. The responsible one. The capable one. And somewhere in all of that, I'd quietly stopped being me. I remember sitting on my kitchen floor one evening, not crying, not falling apart, just sitting there
You’re not behind.
You’re between identities.
That in-between stage can feel like failure when it’s actually transition.
You’re not where you were.
You’re not fully where you’re going.
And that middle space can make you doubt everything.
I remember lying in bed thinking,
my life looks the same… so why doesn’t it feel like mine anymore?
If this is hitting a little too close, that middle space can feel messy, but it does not mean you’re lost.

If your life feels off and you can’t explain why… read this.
Most women think they need more motivation.
Usually that isn’t the problem.
Usually they need language for what they’re actually experiencing.
Because when roles shift, identity does not instantly catch up.
That’s why it feels so weird.
That’s why it feels so hard to name.
I can still remember thinking,
something feels missing… but I can’t even explain what it is.
