since received full registration by the NW Department of Education, as well as being recognised by other major educational bodies as an independent school that provides quality education. In 2016 the school had only 7 pupils, yet today the school has grown to facilitate more than 100 learners with their education. The Executive Manager of the school, Martin Botha, says their philosophy is based on the values of the Bible and they are striving to remind their learners to keep 2 Timothy 1:7 in mind - “You have not been given a spirit of fear, but of love, power and of a sound mind.”
Martin says “Our staff are there to help the learners develop self-discipline and build their self-confidence to reach beyond their fears in order to reach their dreams.”
The medium of instruction for all grades (R – 12) is both English and Afrikaans, depending on the language of instruction as selected by the parents. The diversity of learners who attend StudyXpress, contribute to a vibrant school environment. The Grade R and Grade 1 learners are in the same class and follow a more practical teaching method. "We get very positive results from the learners”, he adds.
“From Grade 10 to 12 we are challenging the status quo. We see a need for learners to finish school with a steadfast, sound character as well as being self-disciplined in their work ethic. We expect them to face up to challenges which are common to “adult life” such as: handling pressure, anxiety and many of the realities of life’s challenges, while making academic progress within a safe learning environment. More than conquerors is an ethos and belief that we challenge ourselves with, and so too the learners.“
