Cmaths: Hole Brain Development Course
An Acronym for Calculating Mental Arithmetic Tuition by making use of a Japanese Soroban. In this program children are taught to develop both their right and left brain capabilities. This method aims to create a love of maths, It enables learners to “See” “C” Maths.
It was great to experience the excitement of the North West Regional Championships for Cmaths that was held in Rustenburg the weekend on the 18 October. A total of 170 children from Rustenburg, Brits, Hartebeespoort, Zeerust and Potchefstroom attended the competition. For the first time, Cmaths Potchefstroom had the privilege to enrol 4 children to participate. It was a wonderful confidence booster for the children.
Eduard Viljoen, Grade 1 from Baileypark Primary school recieved first price, Champion of Champs in his category – Level B, Milét Myburg also a Bailey, received a gold medal in her category , Level B, (3rd place). Sarah Nicole Fourie (Level F) and AmonéMeyer on 9 th kuy, both recieved Champion awards (second place) in their specific categories. Well done to these students who are well on their way to make a difference in the world of maths.
Cmaths was launched in Potchefstroom in 2014. More and more parents are realising that Maths competence is not a nice to have, it is a critical life skill.
