I simply had to share this, because sometimes as mommies or teachers we stay switched on - all the time π
Stop scrolling if you feel like you always need to be βon.β
This is for the neurodivergent person who feels guilty resting or slowing down without feeling unproductive.
Youβve spent years feeling like you have to overwork just to function in environments that were never built with your needs in mind.
So instead of resting, you keep going, even if you are overwhelmed, exhausted, or your body is asking for rest.
For many neurodivergent individuals, this can look like:
π Feeling guilty for taking breaks or resting
π Believing your worth is connected to productivity
π Trying to do everything at once out of fear of falling behind
π Pushing through burnout because stopping feels unsafe
π Feeling pressure to always be improving or achieving
π Struggling to recognize when you genuinely need rest
π Feeling ashamed on days when your capacity looks different
Over time, constantly operating in survival mode can contribute to burnout, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, and chronic self-criticism.
At Bee Kind Counselling, we support neurodivergent individuals through a neurodiversity-affirming approach that values sustainability, self-compassion, and working with your brain and nervous system rather than against them.
You do not need to earn rest through burnout.
