Culinary Chefs Training Program

Looking for individuals that have a passion for cooking and a dream of working in the hospitality industry.

Admission 2022 - The Culinary Academy Of Port Elizabeth is offering 10 bursaries to study a 3 Year Chef Qualification.

The Criteria for Acceptance into the Programme:
* Between 18 and 35 years of age
* A Matric Qualification
* Matric-level English
* South African Citizenship
* A Certified ID copy and Matric Certificate
* Reside in Port ELizabeth / Gqeberha

Junior Chef Lecturer Position

Minimum Requirements / Qualification
• City and Guilds Diploma in Food Preparation and Cooking
• City and Guilds Diploma in Patisserie
• Assessor qualification would be an advantage
• A working knowledge of Microsoft office
• Minimum 2 years Industry experience
• Minimum 1 year training experience

Working Hours
• Full time and will include some evening and weekends

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Plan, design, schedule and conduct classroom lectures, activities and practical sessions
• Tutor and support students during industry training segments in conjunction with industry partners
• Report student performance and progress to Head of Academics
• Must be able to independently run a function

Skills, Competencies and Attributes
• Strong conversational, interpersonal and engaging skills
• Excellent time management
• Capacity to demonstrate and explain course material clearly
• Must have a passion for teaching
