The last 2 weeks has flown by and been action-packed!
One of our main highlights has been our Box Construction process art project. 📦 The kids began by painting 3D boxes with water colour mixes. For the next layer they added stickers, and lastly they chose recyclable loose parts to tape to their boxes to create anything they wanted!
The kids had such fun creating all sorts of things: we had an aeroplane, a car, a truck, a rocket, and even a playground!! 🪄✈️🚘

Raw honey tasting straight from the honeycomb from the hive!! 🤩🍯
The kids were so fascinated to see the honeycomb and squish and squeeze it with their fingers and of course taste 🤤

Play highlights from our Imagineers’ the other week:

One of our favourite discoveries this week were the fresh sweet-smelling guavas growing on the tree in our garden! We went on a guava picking expedition - some from the floor for feeding to the donkeys and some from the tree for us to taste and enjoy 👅
We had great fun investigating the leftovers in our sensory bin - they were so squishy and slimy as we smooshed them with forks and rakes and spoons. The little seeds were covered in slimy jelly and it made wonderful ‘Guava soup’.

One fine morning one of our girls started building a fairy garden in the sandpit. She decided she needed some flowers to decorate her fairy glen, so we all bound out into the open field to collect flowers fit for the fairy garden.

With special baby🤗 Peterson on the way, the moms had a special baby shower at school this morning for Teacher Nicky who will be meeting her bundle of joy soon!🥳🥳
Thank you to everyone who made it special, especially the kiddies.❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤍
All the best Nicky!

RAINY DAYS ARE MAGICAL DAYS ✨

Sometimes when we’re ’cooped up’ indoors we get these amazing opportunities to use our creativity in new ways.
This playdough session turned into something so extraordinary as the kids added more and more loose parts to their creations. Some were cakes, others were playgrounds, the possibilities and imaginings are endless really 🤩

An overwhelming collective play urge the other week has been big body movement, gross-motor balancing and climbing skills, running races - which included forwards, backwards and sideways running like crabs 🦀 and elaborate races on the tennis court where they all diligently line up behind the START line.

We had a new sensory experience this week as we explored playing with love bubbles. 🫧 the kids renamed them jelly beans and loved the texture of squishing them - with fingers and feet! These tiny bubbles have brought so much joy and wonder - there are still a few scattered around the grass - much delight upon discovery each morning 🤩

Starting off last week with Teacher Nicky’s bday; which wasn’t supposed to be a big deal, but the kids were so cute and excited they insisted we put balloons up and sing happy birthday and put on party hats 🥳
We also had Alba’s bday; which meant homemade rainbow cupcake treats and more singing! 😃

WE SURE DO LOVE OUR MOMS 🥰🌸💕🌱

These little ones had such fun putting together these special gifts for their mommies over the course of this week. 🌱Although for the sake of the gift we did have a final product in mind, it was certainly a process-driven experience for them and they took the task so seriously ☺️😍🤩
They started off making hand-prints for the cards (a most lathersome messy experience 🤣).
The next day came some wet-glue collage decoupage on their tins, (with glitter!!! 🤩)
and they finished them off with soil scooping, spekboom planting and assembling today!
We also had hilarious and heart-warming conversations about what we love about our mommies! 🥰

We are so grateful for our moms and wish all the mommies (and mommies-to-be) out there a super special Mother’s Day weekend 💕💜🌸
