In 2006 we released a self-entilted album with this little bubble of Joy as the opener.

Greg B has been putting some visuals to the tracks - this one just makes me happy :)- Thanks, Greg.

As described by Greg- The Smile of Spring is the first track on the 2006 FigTree album. It's a vibrant instrumental piece that captures the essence of nature’s awakening.

Written by Cliff Armstrong
Bruce McLaren Lyall on drums
Lawrence Goss on Bass
Greg Blanshard on guitar
Cliff Armstrong on guitar
Chris Tokalon is on the flute.

In the early2000s Greg Blanshard, Bruce Mclaren-Lyall, Lawrence Goss and myself formed the band FigTree. In 2006 we released our self-titled debut album featuring the late Chris Tokalon on sax and flute. Here's a track called Harbour Lights from the album...

Thanks, Greg for the post and for matching the great images to the music- it's exactly what we felt when we wrote this one together.

Bruce did an incredible job mixing and arranging all the extra instrumentation for the C.D.

Harbour Lights is the last track on FigTree's 2006 self-titled debut album. Its a serene and reflective instrumental with flowing melodies and a soft, nostal...

Found my new favorite music venue in Cape Town-The Alma Cafe. An amazing little spot in Rosebank with an engaging family of musos running things.
They're a legendary bunch in the Cape Town music scene and for good reason. Check out their spot if you are anywhere in the area and get onto their mailing list to be notified of upcoming gigs.

They host some seriously good music in a small intimate venue, and with the stage just a few meters away, you really feel part of the performance. 🔥 🔥👊

One of the greatest guitarists in need of support. Please consider donating or attending the show if you are based in the Cape. His playing with Tananas and Tony Cox collaborations are among the finest examples of guitar playing around- The Jedi knights of Acoustic guitar!! Saddened by the turn of events of a great musician and human being - please assist if at all possible

Featuring Hilton Schilder, Mark Fransman, The Steve Newman Trio (with Carlo Fabe and Peter Ndlala) and Wendy Oldfield. A benefit concert to raise money for a well-known musician, Steve Newman, will be held to support Steve, who is struggling with numerous health issues and needs urgent treatment and...

The Tai Chi way to play guitar. ‍ 🥋🥋🥋
Playing Andy McKee is a fantastic way of getting into the super modern way of playing contemporary Acoustic guitar. It requires the flexible use and flow of both hands while at the same time weaving percussion into the mix by exploring the body of the guitar as a drum kit- Super fun!!! 🔥 🔥
