Trifid, Orion and Aquila swapped their sports gear for thinking caps as they went head-to-head in an exciting General Knowledge Quiz!

The cheers and roars from our children echoed across the school as the teams battled it out, answering a wide range of challenging questions with enthusiasm, teamwork and determination.

Congratulations to Aquila, who emerged victorious and were crowned CHP’s General Knowledge Champions for the year! 🎉👏

🏆💙 Senior Prep Sports Day 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

On Saturday, 11 July, Carlswald House Preparatory concluded our 2026 Sports Day events with an action-packed Senior Prep Sports Day.

The atmosphere was electric as learners showcased their talents in long jump, shot put, netball, soccer and the exciting sprint races. Our Grade 7s led the way with incredible enthusiasm, powerful war cries and unwavering house spirit, keeping the energy high throughout the day.

Congratulations to Aquila, who soared to victory by claiming both the Spirit Trophy and, for the very first time, the Sports Day Trophy! 🏆

A huge well done to every learner for participating with determination, teamwork and outstanding sportsmanship. Thank you to our staff and families for making our 2026 Sports Day events such a memorable celebration.

💛🧸 Celebrating Nelson Mandela Day 🧸💛

Carlswald House Preparatory proudly kicked off Nelson Mandela Day with a moving performance by our SP children, who re-enacted key moments from Nelson Mandela’s remarkable life and legacy.

In their classrooms, learners took part in Think, Puzzle, Explore critical thinking activities before decorating hearts with one act of kindness they can do to make a positive difference in someone else’s life. It was a meaningful reminder that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a lasting impact.

Today also marks the launch of our new community charity initiative. We are collecting new or gently loved teddy bears to bring comfort, love and hope to children in need.

💯 100 Days Smarter! 🧓👵

This week our Grade 1s celebrated their 100th Day of School in style! Children and teachers came fully kitted out as 100 year old grandmas and grandpas, complete with glasses, walking sticks and plenty of old-age character.

The children enjoyed a variety of 100-themed activities:
🍎 Making Fruit Loop necklaces while counting in 5s to 100.
👑 Creating crowns to celebrate being 100 days smarter.
📊 Creating bar graphs using the 2D shapes found in the number 100.

What a fun-filled day celebrating 100 days of learning, laughter and growth! 💙

Today we proudly celebrated our Most Valued Players from this season’s netball and football teams. These children earned this special recognition through their outstanding effort, positive attitude and exceptional team spirit on the sports field.

A huge congratulations to each of you for representing our school with commitment, determination and sportsmanship. We are incredibly proud of your achievements!

To round off a fantastic season, Trifid claimed victory in both the Netball and Football Interhouse competitions. Congratulations to all our players, coaches and supporters for making this season one to remember.

Please join us in welcoming Ms Tabitha Jada, who joins our team as our new Grade 7 Register Teacher and Senior Preparatory Mathematics and Social Science Teacher.

We are delighted to welcome Ms Jada to the CHP family and wish her every success as she begins this exciting new chapter.

This term, our Community Service Project focused on collecting pet food for the Society for Animals in Distress.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful pupils, parents and staff for your generosity and support. Your donations of dog and cat food will help care for animals in need and make a real difference in their lives.

We are so proud to be part of a caring community that is always willing to lend a helping hand. Thank you for helping us make a difference!

Over the past few days, each grade has been given a different person to research and learn about. It has been wonderful to see our pupils exploring the lives, achievements and stories of people who have made a difference.

What a fun and engaging way to inspire curiosity, build research skills and discover someone new!

Reports are out, excitement is in the air, and both our pupils and teachers are ready for a well-deserved midterm break!

We hope you all have a wonderful and restful holiday. If you are travelling, please stay safe and enjoy making special memories with your loved ones.
