Today we share, with deep sadness, the passing of our beloved Mev. Pillay, who gave so much of her life to our school and community 💔.

For over a decade she nurtured children with wisdom and kindness, leaving an imprint on generations of families who passed through our doors. To us she was far more than a teacher. She was a mentor, a guiding light, and a friend whose presence filled our school with warmth and love 💕.

Mev. Pillay was a woman of deep faith, a generous spirit, and a heart that radiated compassion to everyone she encountered. Her gentle words, her caring smile, and her willingness to give so freely of herself made every person feel valued and seen.

She had a gift for teaching not only through lessons in the classroom, but through the example of her life. She showed us the meaning of strength, love, and selflessness. These values are her lasting legacy, and they continue to live on in each of us 💕.

Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we are grateful for the time we were blessed to share with her. Her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration, reminding us to walk with kindness, to give generously, and to love without measure 💔.

We want to take a moment to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to each and every one of you for contributing to yet another incredible academic year. As with every year, 2024 presented its own set of challenges, but together, we faced them head-on and emerged even stronger.

This year holds special significance for us, as we celebrate 18 remarkable years since our visionary principal and owner, Siân Jackson-Morkel, set out to create a school. Today, we honour her unwavering dedication, vision, and commitment that have shaped Midrand Montessori into the thriving community it is today.

We are truly grateful to the parents who have entrusted us with their children's educational journeys. Your support, partnership, and belief in the value of education are what make this school the success it is. Without you, none of this would be possible.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our principal, Siân Jackson-Morkel, for pouring her heart and soul into every corner of Midrand Montessori. Your leadership, dedication, courage, and relentless commitment to making a difference in the lives of children continue to inspire us all. You are changing the world, one child at a time.

As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to another 18 years of growth, success, and shared achievements. Wishing you all a joyous festive season and a well-deserved break. We are excited for what 2025 will bring and can’t wait to continue this incredible journey together.

This Mandela Month, the children at Midrand Montessori Preschool were excited to participate in a heartfelt donation drive. Thanks to the generous contributions from our parents and staff, the children eagerly washed and sorted the donations for delivery to Botshabelo. We were delighted to support such a worthy cause and learn more about the incredible work Botshabelo does for our community.

ABOUT THE 2024 MANDELA DAY WALK AND RUN EVENT:
The highly anticipated 2024 Mandela Day Walk and Run event is scheduled to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on July 20th at DP World Wanderers Stadium.

This annual race is an important occasion in celebrating Nelson Mandela's legacy of unity, service and compassion. The event is expected to attract 10,000 walkers and runners united in spreading kindness and making a positive difference in their communities.
Participants have the opportunity to select from three distances—5km, 10km, and 21km. The 5km route will go through parts of Illovo and Melrose North, while the 10km and 21km routes will include sections of Houghton Estate, passing by some iconic sites such as the Nelson Mandela Foundation and Nelson Mandela's residence.

This year we are so excited to add a Virtual Walk & Run to this event so that people from all over the world can join us in celebrating this important International day.
