Locking the Zoom Factor in Excel
If using a touchpad, it's far too easy to change the zoom percentage inadvertently.
1. Display the File tab – Options- Advanced.
2. In the Editing area, make sure the Zoom On Roll with IntelliMouse check box is not selected.
3. Click on OK.
If you still want to use the trackpad to adjust the zoom factor, you can do so by holding down the Ctrl key as you drag down the trackpad.

Moving Text in MS Word without Affecting the Clipboard
1. Highlight (select) text to be moved.
2. Display the spot in the document where you want to move the information.
3. Holding down the Ctrl key as you right-click the mouse on the spot where the item should be moved. Word moves the highlighted item to where you right clicked.
The Clipboard is not involved. This means that if you had something on the Clipboard before the move, it is still there for later use.

Inserting Dates into a Word Document
Display the Insert tab then click Date & Time in the Text group. Choose the date and time format from the dialog box.
At the bottom-right of this box, check ‘Update Automatically’ to insert a DATE field which always changes to reflect the current date (used in templates). If this check box is not selected, the date is inserted in your document as text, which doesn't change.
