NEVER MIX CHEMICALS WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT THEY ARE! ⚠️

My fellow producers, especially beginners, never mix chemicals based on guesswork.

Before adding any chemical to a production process:

👉🏽 Read the label.
👉🏽 Check the SDS.
👉🏽 Know the correct quantity and concentration.
👉🏽 Confirm that the chemicals are compatible.
👉🏽 Follow the manufacturer's instructions.

⚠️ Some chemicals can react dangerously when mixed, producing excessive heat, harmful vapours, or other hazardous reactions.

When you are not sure — STOP and check first.

🧪 Don't guess. Don't rush. Know your chemicals.

🧪 CHEMICAL PRODUCTION SAFETY SERIES

⚠️ PPE IS NOT OPTIONAL — PROTECT YOURSELF BEFORE YOU START!

My fellow producers, especially those who are just starting out, here's something you should never overlook:

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is your first line of defence when working with chemicals. 🧤🥽

You may think, “I’m only mixing a small batch, what could go wrong?”

The truth is, even a small amount of the wrong chemical exposure can cause serious injury.

👉🏽 Before you start chemical production, make sure you have the appropriate protection for the chemicals you're handling.

🧤 GLOVES
Protect your hands from chemical contact — but remember, not every glove protects against every chemical. Check that your gloves are suitable for the substance you're using.

🥽 SAFETY GOGGLES
Your eyes are extremely vulnerable. A splash can happen in seconds, especially when mixing, pouring or transferring chemicals.

👕 PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
Wear clothing or an apron suitable for the chemicals and process you're working with. Avoid exposed skin where appropriate.

🌬️ VENTILATION
Good ventilation helps reduce exposure to harmful vapours, fumes, dust or aerosols. Never assume that because you can't smell something, it is safe.

⚠️ AND HERE'S THE IMPORTANT PART...

PPE does not make unsafe chemical handling safe.

You still need to:

✅ Read the product label.
✅ Check the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
✅ Understand the hazards before handling the chemical.
✅ Use the correct equipment.
✅ Follow the recommended handling and storage procedures.
✅ Know what to do in case of a spill or exposure.

🚫 Never start mixing first and look for safety information later.

The safest producer is not the one who knows everything.

It's the one who takes the time to find out BEFORE handling the chemical.
