Great attack isn’t random. It’s built.

At Rugga Skills, we teach players that attacking rugby isn’t simply about getting the ball and running, it’s about understanding how to create space and when to use it.

This week, our players are working on structured attack:

🔴 COMMIT — Carry forward and draw defenders.
⚪ CREATE — Recognise when the defence commits and space opens.
🔴 ATTACK — Move the ball into that space and make the right decision.

The goal isn’t to create players who simply memorise patterns. It’s to give them a structure that helps them read the game, recognise opportunities and make confident decisions for themselves.

Structure gives the option. Players make the decision.

Last week at Rugga Skills, our players focused on an important part of becoming smarter, more confident defenders, understanding where to be before the tackle happens.

Through positioning, communication and trust, players worked on protecting the right space, staying connected with teammates and making better defensive decisions as a unit.

Because great defence isn’t only about making the tackle. It’s about reading the game, understanding your role and making the right decision before contact even happens.

When choosing rugby development for your child, skill matters but so does how those skills are taught. 🏉

At Rugga Skills Rugby Academy, we're not only focused on helping young players become better at rugby. We're focused on building confident, capable players through structured, age-appropriate development.

Last week, our sessions highlighted one of the standards behind that approach: safe rugby and good contact habits. Players worked on correct technique, body positioning and safe head placement, with coaches actively checking, coaching and correcting throughout the session.

Because confidence in contact shouldn't come from simply “being brave”. It comes from being properly prepared.

Whether your child is just starting their rugby journey or already playing and looking for additional skills development, Rugga Skills provides an environment where the fundamentals are deliberately built as they grow.
