We want to welcome you to our page and home that you enjoy the educational journey as much as we do. We trust that your child will be very happy with us. Our target is to provide a basis from which your child can build on his/her future. During his/her time with us we will do everything possible to make sure that your child is given the love and attention he/she deserves as well as
guidance to become a balanced social, emotional, intellectual and a physical independent individual. Our program is structured to identify any weaknesses & potential study problems. Please note the following:
1. WORKING HOURS
Full day: 06:30 - 17:30
Arrival of children between 06h30 and 7h30. (Please note that our teacher/s will be on duty between 6h30 and 17h00)
1.1 Breakfast: Will be served from 7:30 - 7:45
1.2 NO BREAKFAST WILL BE SERVED
AFTER 8:00
1.3 The formal program starts at 8:00 (sharp)
2. COLLECTING OF CHILDREN
The school will close at 17h00 daily. NOTE: PLEASE COLLECT YOUR CHILD BY 17H30 AS MY STAFF LEAVE AT THIS TIME. CONTINUOUS LATE COLLECTION WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION.(3 TIMES)
Please inform us about arrangements regarding the collection of your child. ONLY THE PERSON/S THAT ARE specified on the Registration form WILL BE ALLOWED TO COLLECT THE CHILD/CHILDREN. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. We reserve the right to ask for identification if the person is unfamiliar to us.
3. ENTRANCE
For security reasons the small gate will always be locked. The driveway gate will be open from 06h30 to 07h30 for drop offs and again from 16h30 to 17h00 for collection of children. The gate will be kept closed during the day. This is for the safety of all children on the premises. I have provided parking space inside the premises for 24 vehicles for drop off and collection. The gate to the right of the building MUST be kept clear for entrance at all times. Please do not park in front of this gate. This gate will be kept closed at all times to prevent children from entering the driveway area. No responsibility will be taken for children left outside the school premises or outside the small gate in the morning. Make sure that your child is taken in by either me or the teacher before you leave the premises. Should the main gate be closed for any reason during the specified open times as mentioned above, please use the intercom marked DAYCARE/ SCHOOL at the entrance of the property. PLEASE DO NOT HOOT FOR THE GATE TO BE OPENED.
4. LUNCHTIME AND SLEEPING TIME
Lunch is served from 11h30 TO 12H00. Sleep time is from 12:30 – 14:15. Because the daily program is set, please arrange with the teacher if collecting your child earlier than usual.
5. FEES
Monthly fees are payable for each month of the year as the school will be open for 12 months. Monthly fees are payable even if the child is not attending.
•Fees are paid in advance and are non-refundable.
• Annual increase in school fees takes place in January every year.
• Fees are payable BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF THE NEW MONTH. (EFT’S FROM OTHER BANKS,EXCEPT NEDBANK TAKE UP TO 3 DAYS TO REFLECT, SO PLEASE DO THE TRANSFERS BY THE 28TH MONTHLY.
• No credit will be given to children not attending school regardless the reason.
• One calendar month’s notice has to be given when leaving school and the full month’s fees must be paid. No notice may be given for the end of November – as salaries of teachers still needs to be paid for December month.
• The school fees are structured to be paid, over a period of 12 months from January – December. PLAYBALL is INCLUDED IN THE MONTHLY FEES FOR ALL CHILDREN ATTENDING THE SCHOOL. Experi Buddies and Ballet classes will be available in the afternoons for your account. The school fees will cover all food, toiletries, stationary and consumables. Should there be a need for additional funds for whatever reason, I will notify you well in advance personally. Planned day trips and excursions are exempted from the fees and will be communicated to you at least a month in advance with the planned costs that will be incurred. IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR 2015:
MONTHLY FEES ARE PAYABLE BY DEBIT ORDER.(PLEASE ACTIVATE AT YOUR BANK) OR ELECTRONIC TRANSFER BY 28TH OF THE MONTH IN ADVANCE. NO CASH PAYMENTS ARE TO BE MADE AT THE SCHOOL. – CASH CAN BE DEPOSITED INTO THE BANK ACCOUNT. REGISTRATION FEES WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:
TODDLERS: R 1000.00
BABIES: R 1000.00
This is payable on inception and will be kept by the school. The registration fees are only payable by NEW children and are not payable every year. These monies will be credited to the final account upon cancellation. (NOT APPLICABLE IF CANCELLATION IS WITHIN 3 MONTHS AFTER INCEPTION). The registration fee will be forfeited should you cancel within 3 months. The balance on the account is still payable as normal.
6. ABSENCE
Please inform us if your child will not be attending school whether going away on holiday, illness or other reasons.
7. APPOINTMENTS
Should the need arise for a formal meeting; please arrange it with me in advance to make sure that the teacher is also present.
8. FIELD TRIPS AND EXCURSIONS
I have never done this since I started the school. However, should we decide to have a trip somewhere, you will be informed well in advance if any outings are planned. Parents will need to sign an indemnity form for each trip. Any excursion will only take place should there be 100% attendance from all our children.
9. CLOTHING
*It is important that your child wears comfortable clothing so that he/she can be free to be themselves.
*Barefoot for summer and sneakers for the winter.
*Easy to wear clothing is necessary, which your child can put on and take off him-/ herself. It will help your child to become independent & develop a strong self-esteem.
*Please no dresses or platform shoes!
*Extra clothing is necessary if you want your child to be neatly dressed at 16h00. Please notify us if your child has an appointment, which he/she needs to prepare for.
*No jewellery is allowed - to prevent any accidents.(Excluding stud earrings)
*We intend to use the pool on hot summer days, so it will be a good idea to have a swimming costume and swimming towel kept at the school.
*A sunhat for outside play.
*There is branded clothing available on order. Please enquire at the school for the details and prices. It is not compulsory. PLEASE MARK ALL YOUR CHILD’S BELONGINGS - CLEARLY!!!
10. CONTAGIOUS DISEASES
No child with a contagious disease will be allowed at school until the contagious period has passed. In some cases, we might need a doctor’s certificate. Contagious Diseases: German measles, Chickenpox, Measles, Pink Eyes, Gastro, Mumps, Head lice etc. The school is part of the municipal health clinic immunization programme. Please sign the consent forms at the school to make your child part of the immunization process. The clinic sisters visit the school regularly to do all the immunizations.
11. MEDICINE
Medicine that is sent to school:
• should never be in the child’s bag, please give it to me or the teacher personally
• should be CLEARLY MARKED with the following information;
* Name & Surname of child
* Dosage
• We reserve the right to administer first aid attention should the need arise. This will be done only for small cuts and or bruises. You will be contacted immediately. NO ORAL MEDICATION WILL BE GIVEN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES IN THESE EVENTS.
12. BIRTHDAYS
Birthday parties may be held at school. Parties are normally held from 10h00 to 11h30. Please arrange with the class teacher for details. Children will need a consent letter to leave the grounds for a birthday party. Parents are always welcome to be part of your child’s party or special occasions. No presents will be handed out in class or opened in front of the class. Parents feel that this is a major expense and children compare gifts, given. If you would like to bring a present for a close friend, it will be kept in the office, until home-time.
13. DAILY NECESSITIES
Clean clothes - marked clearly
A hat and sun block - Summer
Blanket and pillow for sleep time.
14. SLEEPING
Durable mattresses are provided. The covers will be removed and washed as required. Your child will use the same mattress every day. No mattresses will be shared. The mattress remains the property of the school. Pillows may be sent to school for daily use. During colder periods and winter months, it is advised to send a blanket or small duvet to school for your child’s use. This will be returned as summer approaches. All pillowcases and blankets are kept clean by the school. All children have to sleep at rest time, except if there’s another arrangement made with the class teacher.
15. MEALS
All meals are provided. NO lunchboxes or juice or cold drink will be allowed . The menu is balanced and will be adapted to age. Just note that we reserve the right to change it at any time. Daily activity and afternoon play will ensure that your child still has his/her normal appetite for supper with you. NO SPECIAL MENUS WILL BE PREPARED. Breakfast-cereals or pap 07:30 – 07:45
Snack- Fruits/ crackers 10:00
Lunch (menu): 11:30
Snack: Fruits, biscuits and Oros 15:00
Fridays are reserved for meals other than the ordinary. This could vary from crumpets/pancakes to hotdogs and pap and wors, viennas and chips, etc.
