"What becomes of torture when the torture chamber is no longer a bounded space, but the conditions under which life is made to continue?" Drawing on testimonies from Gaza, this talk rethinks torture beyond discrete acts, identifiable bodies, and bounded sites. It asks how suffering is produced through the destruction of the material, social, infrastructural, and ecological conditions necessary for life.
