HAPPYWEEN IS HERE!

Every year a little more magical than before.No tricks, only treats, and plenty of scooping, pouring and exploring along the way!

Think Halloween, but with the cutest twist. No goblins, no ghouls, just pumpkin spice and all things nice! 🎃

We’ve got a whole lot of fun planned for our little pumpkins!

🎃 A pumpkin hunt! Our very own version of trick-or-treating, where each kiddo gets a little candy-free sensory goodie bag to take home!

🧪 Plenty of bubbling, fizzing potion play

🎨 Halloween crafts! We’ll be painting magnets

🌈 And of course, lots and lots of messy play

Dress-up is welcome! We will have a few props handy too 👻

And because we know parents love options, you’re welcome to skip the sensory goodie bag and still join the fun!

Back to one of our favourite spots this Sunday! 🐚

And yes… partly because we’ll take any excuse to go back to Doughed 🤣🍕

This time we’re off on a little Ocean Adventure 🌊🐚 - a morning of seaside-inspired sensory play, potion making, art and, of course, plenty of mess.

Think scooping, pouring, mixing, little ocean worlds and lots to keep busy little hands happy.

I love themes that are a feast for the eyes from start to finish 🍋🇮🇹🌸

Where every station is a completely different invitation to play, the kiddos are going from start to finish trying EVERYTHING, the water stations quickly become plunge pools 🤣 and the playdough looks good enough to eat.

Italian Spring was definitely one of those.

We’ve been told SO many times that we need to show more of what actually goes into our setups because with Happy-Mess, you don’t really know until you go 😂 We’re trying!!

This one had pizza ovens, baking potions, a gelato bar, pasta play, limoncello, blooms and so many tiny details that probably deserve their own reel.

Scooping, pouring, squishing, mixing, making - and then watching the kiddos find completely different ways to play with everything we’ve created. That’s the bit that makes all the prep worth it.

And, as always, they came in and absolutely demolished it 😂🤌🏽

Exactly what we made it for.

And really, where better to do Italian Spring than the best pizza spot around? 🇮🇹🍕 A morning of Happy-Mess at just made sense.

RAINBOW ROOTS 🌈🇿🇦
Our colourful little celebration of South Africa.

This Heritage Day, we’re celebrating home - the colours, textures, landscapes and little things that make South Africa so wonderfully ours. ❤️

We’ve created a morning of sensory play, potion play and crafts inspired by the places, people and everyday magic our kiddos are growing up with.

Think sunshine and proteas, bush and ocean, a little braai magic, plenty of colour and, of course, lots of Happy-Mess.

Mamma Mia… it’s spring! 🍋🌸🇮🇹

We’re returning to one of our favourite pizza spots-Doughed, home to one of the world’s top 10 pizzas!
When we first started hosting classes there two years ago, we created an Italian-inspired sensory session that we absolutely loved. It felt only right to bring it back, this time with a fresh spring twist.

Join us for a morning of sensory play, potion play and crafts, with plenty of scooping, pouring, mixing, creating as we travel to Italy through play.

I love people who celebrate things…The big things, the little things, the messy things, the moments that don’t need a reason at all.

Maybe it’s because I grew up in a family where we celebrated everything - and I’ve carried that with me.
So we absolutely loved curating this session for this beautiful little family. From the very beginning to the very end, they were completely entertained, immersed and, most importantly, having FUN. 🤍

Creating beautiful little moments, making memories and finding a reason to celebrate, I really can’t think of anything nicer ❤️ Thank you for letting us be part of the magic.

We know we’ve been a little quiet on here lately. 🤍 Social media takes time - and that’s not something we’ve had much of lately.

It’s taken a while to process everything, but it finally feels like we can breathe again, so I thought it was a good time to just be real.

In January, we found what we genuinely believed would be our dream home. Little did we know, we’d signed ourselves into a bit of a horror story.

Unapproved plans. Invalid certificates. Electrical and gas issues. Concealed damp. Termites… the list goes on.
The house transferred, we started paying the bond, and yet we couldn’t live in it, let alone renovate it. It’s been months of inspections, phone calls, legal meetings and an exhausting amount of uncertainty. My mental health took a huge turn.

It consumed so much of our time and headspace that, for a while, I simply didn’t have much left for social media.
So if we’ve been slow to reply, missed a message or been quieter than usual, you’ll know why. We had to triage.

And in the meantime, life kept happening. So many exciting things were happening around us - celebrations, milestones, family moments - and we feel like we’ve missed so much of it because being ‘present’ felt impossible 🤍

The families who kept supporting Happy-Mess were actually one of the things that kept me going. After six electrical inspections (yes… SIX 😩), we are finally compliant. And last week, we finally got the go-ahead to start working on our home. It still feels surreal.

There’s a huge mountain ahead, but after all the fighting and waiting, we’re finally moving forward. We even ended the week celebrating a very long-awaited family event. 🤍 For the first time in a long time, it feels like life is finally moving in the right direction.

One little side note…our realtor was amazing throughout all of this. We genuinely couldn’t fault her. Everyone else involved could probably take a few notes. 😂

So… hi. 👋🏽 Thank you for being patient with us while we’ve been navigating all of this. It really has meant more than you know.

Things are finally looking up, and we are so ready for it! 🤍 Now, let’s get back to m
