Why I said "No" to a 10-lesson-a-week request. π«π
I recently spoke with a parent who wanted their son to finish a 10-lesson course in just five days before moving to Melbourne.
My answer? Letβs slow down.
It may sound silly of me to do that, because who on this earth turns away money? But here's the truth.
Language learning is a marathon, not a sprint.
Trying to "cram" English into a single week is like trying to run a marathon with no training. That method is the fastest way to end up exhausted, burnt out, and confused.
For students moving to English-speaking countries like Australia, America, UK, etc. the goal isn't just to "finish lessons."
Itβs about building the confidence to:
β
Understand local accents.
β
Express opinions about subjects like History.
β
Navigate real-life situations like public transport or ordering food.
β
Speak English with confidence.
β
Start thinking in English automatically.
The Lesson: Don't rush the process. A steady pace builds a "thinking in English" mindset that lasts long after you arrive at your destination. βοΈπ¦πΊ
