There is something lovely about watching children realise they can do a little more than they thought. 💛

At Bongani, outdoor play gives our children the space to climb, balance, explore and work things out in their own time.

Sometimes confidence grows in a big moment. Sometimes it grows quietly, one small attempt at a time, with a friend sitting right beside you.

These are the everyday moments we love. Children moving, learning, encouraging one another and discovering what they can do.

Busy little hands, growing little minds. 💛

There is a lot happening around our classroom tables here at Bongani.

Our children are picking up, placing, sorting, matching, counting, trying again and working things out for themselves, often with a gentle helping hand from a teacher nearby.

While they play, they are strengthening coordination and movement, developing the fine-motor skills little hands will need for tasks like drawing and writing, and using their minds to recognise patterns, solve problems and make choices.

This is why we value these simple, hands-on activities so much. They give our children the opportunity to learn by doing, at their own pace, while building confidence in what they are able to achieve.

At Bongani, some of the most important learning happens with a colourful table, a few simple pieces and a little mind completely absorbed in the task. 💙

One of the loveliest parts of being at Bongani is watching a child realise they can do something they could not do before. 💛

It might be recognising a number without help, writing their name for the first time, balancing all the way across, or proudly showing us a new skill they have been practising.

That little look of “I did it” is precious, because with every new skill comes a little more confidence.

We feel so grateful to be there for those moments, to encourage them, celebrate with them and watch each child grow in their own way.

At Bongani, the big milestones matter, but so do all the tiny wins in between. 🌱

Some of the most meaningful moments with our children are also the simplest. 💛
Talking together while getting ready in the morning. Sharing a story. Letting little hands help with a small job. Sitting together at the end of the day and asking, “What made you smile today?”
These moments help children feel safe, heard and loved, while building confidence, language, independence and connection.
At Bongani, we believe parents and caregivers play such an important part in a child’s early learning journey. You do not need expensive toys, extra hours or perfect routines to make a difference.

Spring has arrived at Bongani, and today we are celebrating it with our little ones. 🌼💛

There is something so special about seeing the excitement a simple day like this can bring. Bright clothes, happy faces, popcorn, jelly and custard and lots of little moments to enjoy together.

Our teachers have put so much care into making today feel fun and memorable for the children, and that means a lot to us.

A new season also brings new things to notice, explore and learn about, and we love giving our children opportunities to experience those moments with joy.

Here’s to a happy Spring Day at Bongani, filled with colour, laughter and plenty of reasons to smile. 🌸

At Bongani Pre-School, we are proud to be part of the Bongani community in Knysna, giving little ones a safe, loving place to learn, play and grow. 💛
We know just how important the first five years are. These are the years when little minds are growing quickly, confidence is beginning to form and so many of the foundations for future learning are being built.
Our caring, trained team takes a practical, hands-on approach to teaching, giving children plenty of opportunities to explore, discover, ask questions and learn through play.
Most of all, we want every child at Bongani to feel known, encouraged and supported as they grow into curious, confident little learners.

This month we celebrate the women who bring so much heart to Bongani. 💛

They are the teachers who encourage, the hands that help, the voices that reassure and the familiar faces our children trust each day.

Their care is felt in the classroom, on the playground and in all the little moments in between - the ones that help children feel safe, confident and ready to learn.

To the incredible women who give so much of themselves to our Bongani family, thank you for the patience, energy and love you bring into the school every day.
