The Student Ethics and Discipline (SE&D) unit presented at the Safety and Security Awareness Campaign, held under the theme:

“Campus Safety Starts With You: Protect Yourself. Protect Your Property.”

Adv. Elséda Smith-Rasemene, Legal Practitioner and Student Affairs Professional, represented SE&D as a panelist, contributing to important conversations around student safety, rights, responsibilities, ethical conduct and the role of students in creating a safe campus environment.

The session brought together professionals from various departments providing students with practical information on personal safety, crime prevention, security risks and emergency response.

At SE&D, we continue to encourage students to know their rights, understand their responsibilities, make ethical choices and contribute to a safe and respectful university community. 🧡

🎓 Building Ethical Leaders from the Classroom

The Student Ethics & Discipline (SE&D) engaged with learners at Nova Pioneer Ormonde – Secondary in Johannesburg on the importance of ethical conduct.

The session focused on understanding academic and non-academic transgressions, making responsible choices, and recognising how everyday actions can shape one’s character and future.

We also explored practical ways to promote ethical behaviour in schools from academic honesty and respect for others to accountability, integrity and responsible decision-making.

Ethical leadership starts early. By equipping young people with the knowledge and values to make ethical choices, we contribute towards building responsible students, future professionals and engaged citizens. 🧡

Choose integrity. Lead ethically. Make a difference.
