🐰 Most of us know Beatrix Potter as the beloved author and illustrator who brought Peter Rabbit, Mrs Tiggy-Winkle and Jeremy Fisher to life — capturing the hearts of children and parents across generations. 📚
But here is the side of Beatrix Potter that is not as well known.....
Taking the royalties from her books she purchased Hill Top Farm in the Lake District in 1905 — and then Troutbeck Park in 1923 — specifically to protect the land from developers.
And when she passed away in 1943 she left her farms to the National Trust with one very specific and beautiful condition:
That her fell-going flocks of Herdwick sheep remain pure. 🐑
Not just conserving land.
Not just protecting countryside.
But preserving an entire heritage breed that might otherwise have disappeared forever.
A storyteller who used her words to delight children — and her resources to protect the natural world she loved so deeply. 💚

She is absolutely a lady after our own heart. 🌿

Our Foundation class completed their Volcanoes 🌋🌋

A journey with cardboard, paper, paper mache and loads of messy, joyful creativity 💚

💡We learnt so many interesting volcano facts and here's one that might surprise you: Did you know that there are more volcanoes under the ocean than on land?
In fact over 80% of all volcanic activity on Earth happens beneath the ocean's surface — mostly along underwater mountain ranges called mid ocean ridges. Most of us never see them — but they are constantly reshaping the ocean floor beneath our feet right now. 🌊🌋

Music Minds 🎶🧠

Recently we met Annemie Blignault from Music Minds and within minutes we realised that we share many of the same beliefs about what children need as they develop and grow 🌱🌱
Annemie's Music Minds programme uses music alongside listening, visual, tactile, movement and rhythm activities to create opportunities for children to develop while having fun 🥳
What really resonated with us was the philosophy behind it:
Children can learn, develop and build important skills while being actively engaged and enjoying themselves!
That is something we believe strongly at Natural Dynamix too - learning doesn’t have to mean sitting still all day 💚
Meeting Annemie reminded us how wonderful it is to find people who are asking the same question we are:
What do children need in order to thrive? 🌟
We can't wait to explore where this shared philosophy might take us.

Today at Natural Dynamix we celebrated Spring — and it was an absolutely beautiful sunny, happy day. 🌸☀️
Our learners arrived this morning in a glorious explosion of colour and buzzing with excitement for what the day had in store.

🧺 We started with a picnic on the grounds, spread out on the grass under a gorgeous sunny sky with their delicious eats and treats. 💛
🌱 Then we went on to planting our vegetable seedlings
Carefully placing seedlings into freshly prepared soil, each in their own little spot. 🌿
💦 And we finished it all off with some fun Waterplay, because what's a Spring celebration without getting absolutely soaked and running around screaming? 😄
