Hierdie boodskappie het my beslis laat glimlag! Maar is dit nie maar so nie - ons sê party goed oor en oor vir ons kinders (ja ek ook, eks ook ‘n mamma), en dan hoor hulle dieselfde ding op ‘n ander manier en van iemand anders wat hulle vertrou, en daar ‘drop die penny’ (soos die engelsman sal sê)! 😂

Dis iets wat ek baie gereeld hoor by mammas nadat hulle dogters my kursus gedoen het, en dis ook ‘n groot rede hoekom ek die aanlyn kursus aanbied vir die dogtertjies - so saam-saam stel ons hulle bloot aan opbouende en belangrike boodskappe, en so, saam-saam, plant ons die saadjies.

As jy graag wil he jou dogter moet ook saam my leer, gaan loer gerus na die aanlyn kursus, dis propvol lekker lessies wat sy sommer lekker van die huis af kan kyk.

I had a choice: I could either hire a professional video crew, or… ...use my talented dad as the cameraman, director & sound engineer, mom as the teleprompter operator and stylist, and Annabella & Enzo (my children) as assistants. I even converted Annabella’s room into our home studio!😅 I decided to go with the ‘family crew’ option, not because of budget constraints, but because I knew it would make the whole experience so much more memorable and enjoyable. And boy was I right on this one!

My dad was the creator and director of South Africa’s longest-running TV Game Show “Noot vir Noot”, so I knew I was in good hands when I asked him to direct & film this for me. Mom patiently helped me to remember all my words while also keeping an eye on the hair & makeup while recording.

We filmed for a full week. The final product looks amazing and I cannot be prouder!

Even though this is an online course, I felt like I was talking to a real girl in front of me, in person, all the time while recording each lesson. So when it was time to film the final lesson I got very emotional 😭 Luckily the tears rolled in front of my family, (which is less embarrassing than if it were a video crew from outside!)😅 Enzo just rolled his eyes, (typical boy!😂), Annabella and my mom were ready with hugs and dad watched quietly, looking proud.
Today I’m extremely happy and proud of the final product myself. Each of the 21 lessons is super valuable and the feedback from my students are so positive! 🤗

I am forever grateful that I could give this big dream of mine wings, not by myself in a studio with strangers, but surrounded by the loving support and helping hands of my loved ones.

Comparison is such a happiness stealer! And still its something your daughter WILL do, especially during her pre-teen and teen years.

In the Girl-School Online course I have a full module dedicated to ‘Embracing your uniqueness’

It’s so important to have these conversations, and that she hears this message in various ways and forms:

“YOU AR YOU FOR A REASON! God made you uniquely beautiful and to compare yourself to others will be a waste of time and just steal your happiness.”

And then, we give her TOOLS - What do I DO then when I start to compare myself to help me to stop?
And these tools will serve her well for the rest of her life!👏
