✨ Our GOAL Intermediate learners travelled to India! ✨

As part of our exploration of different countries, their landmarks, and foods, we "visited" India to learn about the magnificent Taj Mahal πŸ•Œ

To make the experience even more meaningful, learners enjoyed tasting Chai Tea, a popular drink enjoyed throughout India. β˜•πŸŒΏ

Through activities like these, learners are able to explore different cultures, traditions, landmarks, and flavours from around the world, making learning both engaging and memorable.

What a wonderful way to bring geography and culture to life! πŸŒπŸ’›

🌟 Introducing Our Monitors! 🌟

We are proud to introduce our Grade 7 and Year 2 Senior Monitors for the term!

These learners have been selected to take on leadership responsibilities within our school community. As monitors, they will serve as positive role models, assist staff and fellow learners, and help uphold the values that make Glenoaks such a special place.

We look forward to seeing them grow in confidence, responsibility, and leadership as they embrace this important role.

Congratulations to all our monitors – we know you will make us proud! πŸ‘βœ¨

πŸ’° Grade 3 Money Matters! πŸ’°

Our Grade 3 learners have thoroughly enjoyed exploring money concepts through hands-on activities using real coins and notes. Working with authentic materials has helped them develop a deeper understanding of value, counting, comparing amounts, and making change.

Through practical learning experiences, the learners have been building confidence in recognising different coins and notes, calculating totals, and applying their knowledge to real-life situations. It has been wonderful to see their enthusiasm and growing understanding of this important life skill.

Well done, Grade 3, on your hard work and dedication! 🌟

βœοΈπŸ“– Grade 3 Daily Writing Fun! πŸ“–βœοΈ

Our Grade 3 learners have been working hard on their 10-minute writing skills every day.

One of their favourite parts of the activity is seeing the new picture prompt each day. They wait in anticipation to discover what adventure will inspire their writing!

The prompt featured a cow being abducted by an alien, and the excitement was unbelievable. The classroom was buzzing with ideas, creativity, and imagination. We can’t wait to read all the wonderful stories they have written!

βœ–οΈπŸ† Grade 3 Maths Challenge! πŸ†βœ–οΈ

Our Grade 3 learners had so much fun taking part in a friendly competition while practising their 2Γ— tables and tallying up their points along the way.

The challenge encouraged learners to think quickly, apply their multiplication facts, and work on their accuracy in an exciting and engaging way. Most importantly, they showed wonderful enthusiasm, determination, and a positive attitude throughout the activity.

Learning becomes even more meaningful when learners are actively involved, and it was fantastic to see everyone enjoying maths while building their confidence with times tables.

Well done, Grade 3! 🌟

✏️🌈 Spelling Practice with a Twist! 🌈✏️

Our Grade 1 learners took their spelling practice outdoors for a fun, hands-on learning experience!

Using chalk and spray bottles, learners wrote and practised their spelling words on the wall before spraying them away and starting again. This interactive activity transformed spelling practice into a multisensory learning experience that kept learners engaged and excited to learn.

Activities like these help reinforce spelling patterns, improve letter formation, strengthen fine motor skills, and make learning memorable through movement and play.

Who knew practising spelling words could be this much fun? πŸ’šβœ¨

πŸ“šβœ¨ Explosion Books in Action! βœ¨πŸ“š

Our Grade 5–7 learners have been hard at work creating their own Explosion Books – a project that combines creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills in a fun and engaging way.

As learners design, measure, fold, cut, and assemble their books, they are developing a wide range of important skills, including planning and preparation, spatial awareness, organisation, following instructions, problem-solving, fine motor skills, creativity, and perseverance.

While the finished books are impressive, the real learning happens throughout the process. Watching learners plan, adapt, overcome challenges, and take pride in their work is what makes activities like these so valuable.

Sometimes the biggest learning happens when a book β€œexplodes” with creativity! 🌟

πŸ‘ΎπŸ“ Monsters, Adjectives, and Creative Writing! πŸ“πŸ‘Ύ

In Grade 3, we jumped fully into our monster theme while exploring adjectives in English.

Our learners had great fun imagining, describing, and creating their own adjective monsters, carefully choosing words to explain how their monsters look, move, and behave. From furry and friendly to gigantic and grumpy, each monster was brought to life through creative descriptions and imaginative storytelling.

This activity helped learners expand their vocabulary, strengthen their descriptive writing skills, and develop their creativity while having plenty of fun along the way!

We loved seeing the unique personalities of all the wonderful monsters that found their way into our classroom. πŸ‘Ήβœ¨

πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈβœ¨ Grade 1 Physio Fun! βœ¨πŸ€Έβ€β™€οΈ

Our Grade 1 learners had a fantastic morning during their Physio session, tackling a variety of movement-based activities designed to strengthen their bodies while having plenty of fun!

From balancing, crawling, climbing, and obstacle courses to core-strengthening exercises and coordination challenges, learners worked hard while building important foundational skills.

Physiotherapy plays an important role in supporting gross motor development, balance, coordination, strength, body awareness, and motor planning. Through engaging activities and play, our learners develop the physical skills needed to support success both in and out of the classroom.

The smiles, laughter, and determination on display made for a wonderful morning of learning through movement! πŸ’š
