I just watched an incredible discussion with neuroscientist Reid Lyon and teacher Margaret Goldberg on the science of reading. They highlighted how important it is to understand how the brain learns to read, not just whether a child can pronounce words.

Many children struggle with reading and schoolwork, not because they aren’t intelligent or motivated, but because their brains and eyes need the right support to process information efficiently.

This is why I focus on helping learners build strong reading and learning foundations — online or in person. With structured support, children can:

Silent Reading Tip:
Create a cozy reading spot.
It doesn’t have to be perfect or expensive — a small, quiet corner with good light is enough. The effort you make shows your child that reading is important and valued.
