Our mini scientists celebrated World Space Week this week by making their own STEAM candy in the form of star sprinkled, edible slime! 🚀🥳✨✨

The Scrumptious Slime experiment showed our mini magicians that simple materials can be transformed through mixing and chemistry. 🧪⚛️🧪⚛️

This cosmic activity encourages creativity and scientific thinking. 💭🪅

While making their own STEAM candy, our students explored:

1.) Texture.
2.) Cause and effect.
3.) The science behind everyday mixtures.
4.) Expanding of their senses and imaginations.

Our mini scientists had hands on practice feeling the magnetic force when controlling their paperclips. 🧲🖇️🧲

Magnets create invisible magnetic fields that attract certain metals, like the steel in paperclips. 🖇️ When the magnet moves nearby, the magnetic force pulls the paperclip along without touching it. ✨🔮

Our mini magicians learned how magnetic forces can act at a distance and how changing the magnet’s position controls the clip’s movement.📎🧲 While they developed fine motor skills and spatial awareness by coordinating the magnet’s motion to guide the paperclip.😄📎🧲

This hands-on exploration helped our amazing students see and feel the unseen power of magnets, unlocking the secret to magical, invisible forces at work all around us.

With the weather being absolutely magical this week, we ventured outside for our lesson and foraged for interesting elements in the environment around us to observe under an amazing two-way magnifying viewer. 🍃🌸🪻🌸🍃

Check us out learning about Environmental Science and celebrating all things beautiful in nature with the Magical Microscope activity! 🔬✨

The two-way magnifying viewer is an amazing tool that was a hit during our lesson and encouraged our mini scientists to engage in curiosity, respectful observation and tons of fun! 🌈✨🍃✨
