The month of March is Intellectual Disability Awareness Month, highlighting the fact that people with intellectual disabilities have the right to be treated like human beings, deserving of inclusion, dignity, respect and high quality of life. Too often, intellectually disabled individuals are treated as second-rate human beings and are denied the same rights as able-bodied individuals. Help us raise awareness of these incredible people and the fact that people with intellectual disabilities not only can lead fulfilling lives but also the ability to make meaningful contributions as responsible and productive members of society.
