🖤 Tembisa West Secondary School Stands United Against GBV

As our communities mourn yet again, we cannot remain silent while women and girls continue to lose their lives to violence.

The recent killings of women across Ekurhuleni and the East Rand have once again reminded us of the devastating reality of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide (GBVF). Behind every headline is a daughter, mother, sister, wife, friend and colleague whose life mattered.

At Tembisa West Secondary School, we stand firmly against GBV and violence in all its forms.

🕯️ A safety that every woman deserves.
🕯️ A dignity that must never be taken away.
🕯️ Justice for every victim.
🕯️ Equality for all.
🕯️ Respect for every woman and girl.

To our learners, parents, educators and community members: speak up, intervene, support survivors and help create environments where women and girls can live, walk, work, learn and simply exist without fear.

We remember the women whose lives have been taken.
We stand with their families.
We demand safer communities.
And we commit ourselves to being part of the change.

FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE WORLD OF BANKING!💰🚀

We are thrilled to share that our Grade 9 learners had an exciting and enriching excursion to FNB🎉👏🏽

Accompanied by Miss Maseko and Mr Matlakala, our learners had the opportunity to explore the world of banking, finance and entrepreneurship.

They gained valuable insights into careers within the financial sector, including banking, financial literacy, entrepreneurship and client services. They also learned practical lessons about the importance of saving, budgeting and managing money, while getting a glimpse into how a bank operates on a daily basis. 💰📚

It was wonderful to see our learners engaged, curious and eager to learn, gaining knowledge that goes beyond the classroom.

👏🏽 A BIG WELL DONE to our Grade 9 learners for representing our school with enthusiasm and pride!

✈️🚀 FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE SKIES! 🌍✨

We are happy to share that our learners’ excursion to the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) Youth Development Programme at Air Force Base Waterkloof was a great success.✈️

Mr Dlamini and Ms Lutuka had the privilege of accompanying our learners, who were exposed to various careers in aviation, aerospace, defence, military health services and other specialised fields. They were also able to explore one of their aircraft up close and learn about areas such as aviation operations, military health services and Air Force careers.

To make the day even more special, one of our learners won a brand-new Lenovo laptop through a raffle they entered upon arrival with Airpots Company South Africa🎉💻👏🏽

It was truly a beautiful and enriching experience. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this opportunity possible for our learners. ❤️🙏🏽

Most importantly, we are thankful to Airports Company South Africa. Thank you for always believing in our learners and giving them opportunities.✈️🙏🏽
