Westville Old Boys and Girls - Cape Town

There will be 2 wakes for Neil Mac Arthur. One will be in Gordons Bay (where Neil lived) on Friday and the next in Johannesburg (where most of Neils friends live). All are welcome that knew him from Westville and Durban.

As a family we would like to express our sincere and deep thanks to Westville Boys' High School for initiating this drive. Our thanks extend to each and every single person and school who got behind the initiative and Blake - whether it be donating blood or simply sharing.

The outpouring of kindness and concern has been truly overwhelming and we are extremely grateful. It has been remarkable to see how communities can rally and just how amazing people are.

We are happy to share that Blake himself is stable and will hopefully go from strength to strength from here.

Thank you again to one and all for getting behind a wonderful drive to raise 0- blood and for all the support directed towards Blake and ourselves.

Thank you for the overwhelming support-we are urging you all to find a local SANBS drive or clinic if you live closer to one. We have a small mobile clinic coming to WBHS, although we are trying to organize for more beds and nurses to be present.

One of our boys is in high care and needs blood transfusions—but he can only receive 0-Negative and there is currently no stock in KZN.

We are calling all our parents and boys and Westville Community members who KNOW they are definitely O-Negative to attend a blood donor drive at WBHS, in the RCT Foyer from 8:30am

While there is no guarantee this blood will get to Blake with the current shortage—we do want to try and make sure there is enough in stock so that he has a high chance of receiving blood from this drive.

PLEASE make sure you or your boys are definitely O-Negative if you come through to donate.
