Waiting for my guests from Russia. What a beautiful day it turned out to be. I loved the appreciation and enthusiasm these ladies and one gent showed about the history and natural beauty of this precious bit of Renosterveld. Planning a 5 day survival course to test the Acheulian stone tools.

We celebrated Water week in the best way possible. Thank you from the KleinmondConservationSociety for the opportunity to meet these enthusiastic young naturalists from The Strandlopers project in Kleinmond. The youngest was only 4 years old 🥰. Thanks to Vic Brink for the stunning pics. All this made possible through a KZN Midlands Family Legacy Fund 💙💙💙 It takes partnerships and teamwork to bring about the change we need.

The Spiny Sea Star - a stunning marine invertebrate that is pretty common on our rocky shores. It has no brain and no blood and uses a water driven vascular system. It can regenerate lost arms and has a 'primitive' eye and the end of each, only able to detect light and dark. One of over 2000 species worldwide. They eat small molluscs. Gently pick one up next time you spot one and you'll feel the power of their suction cups hold onto you. Even if you don't see one, spending time exploring the diversity of life in our rock pools will blow your mind!
Come and see many more amazing creatures during our Blue Guardians program on the 6th of April 2026. Contact 0790539034 to reserve your place 💙
