We are incredibly proud to celebrate a Hermannsburg Old Scholar Erich Kliem who has been named the PGA of South Africa’s National Game Development Coach of the Year.

This prestigious recognition, awarded by fellow PGA professionals and a panel of industry experts, acknowledges his dedication to golf coaching, development and continued learning within the sport.

Throughout his journey, he has worked closely with organisations and professionals including Stellenbosch Golf Club, the PGA of South Africa, FlightScope Golf, FlightScope Africa and Swing Catalyst, using collaboration, research and technology to continually develop his approach to coaching.

His philosophy is rooted in the belief that great coaching never stops evolving. Through learning from fellow coaches, players, researchers and industry professionals, he continues to grow while also contributing to the development of others.

Erich has had the great fortune of guiding a legally blind member of Stellenbosch Golf Club, on no less than 9 international campaigns, to the World Blind Golf Championships as well as an event called the Vision Cup. On two of these trips, he grabbed the opportunity to combine them with visiting and learning directly from his internationally renowned mentors in the USA.

He will be recognised alongside fellow professionals at the PGA National Awards Dinner in September.

Congratulations on this outstanding achievement. It is always special to see a member of the Hermannsburg family excelling in their chosen field and making a meaningful contribution to their profession.

🚒 Little Oaks Kindergarten Visits Umvoti Fire & Rescue! 🔥

Our Kindergarten scholars had an exciting and educational visit to the Umvoti Fire and Rescue Team in Greytown.

From climbing inside the fire truck and spraying the hose to trying on real firefighter gear, there was plenty of excitement! Our scholars also learnt important fire-safety skills, including Stop, Drop and Roll.

A big thank you to the firefighters for their patience, kindness and for teaching our little ones such valuable lifesaving lessons. 🚒❤️

The Deutsche Sprachdiplom (DSD) is much more than a language qualification. 🇩🇪📚

It can open doors to exciting study, training and career opportunities in Germany after matric, giving young people access to a wide range of international pathways.

Through Hermannsburg School’s post-school partnerships, successful DSD candidates can access opportunities such as African Skills for Germany (AS4G), an initiative linked to the German business community that supports young people in pursuing vocational training, studies and career opportunities in Germany.

Our DSD II scholars completed the written component of their exams yesterday, while our DSD I scholars wrote today. With this important milestone behind them, we congratulate them on their hard work and dedication, and wish them every success as they prepare for the oral examinations still to come.

Keep pushing forward, stay focused, and remember that the world is full of possibilities. 🌍✨
