One thing that has always brought communities together is sound - and we felt that deeply at TEDxGeorge last year.

We were honoured to be joined by the incredibly talented Siyakhona Youth Group, whose performance filled the room with energy, emotion, and connection.

There were very few dry eyes in the room afterwards… and it only felt right to share a piece of that moment with you today.

What does diversity really mean?

In her 2024 TEDxGeorge talk, Thandy Mkhambi challenged us to think beyond the usual definitions - reminding us that diversity is not only about race, gender, or background, but also about perspective.

With over a decade of experience as an HR Business Partner across FMCG, Retail, and EdTech, Thandy now works in the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion space, helping organisations rethink transformation, leadership, and culture.

Her perspective is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: when people are given space to thrive, sustainable growth becomes possible.
