Liza Kimble Workshops Humans need to heal themselves, to help the Horse. Welcome to my central page-the home for everything I share and teach.

These profoundly transformative workshops offer the Human aspect as well as the Horse for Self Healing and Self Awareness. They are rooted in Fascial Science, Trauma Release and Wisdom from Ancient origin. I'm Liza Kimble, a fascia and trauma release practitoner and coach, working with both humans and horses. I have created both EFTR (Equine Fascia & Trauma Release )for horses and FTR (Fascia & Trauma Release) for humans. The Human Algorithm is a new workshop for those deeply ready to shift and transform themselves, in order to be a better TREE for those in their presence, whether human or animal. This is now the one space for updates, workshops, resources and community connection-bringing all of my previous pages together into one hub.

EFTR® Original Slow Hands Technique

Sometimes, the most powerful thing you can do is slow down.

In EFTR®, the work begins long before we start releasing tissue.

My original Slow Hands Technique is about creating a sense of safety through gentle, intentional touch.

By slowing down, I give the horse’s sensory system time to receive and process the information coming from my hands.

I am listening to the horse through touch — feeling the quality of the superficial tissues, noticing areas of restriction or reduced tissue glide, and observing how the horse responds.

This gentle contact also supports interoception — the horse’s awareness of sensations within its own body — and encourages a shift towards a more relaxed state of the nervous system.

Working along the superficial dorsal line, which is also associated with the pathway of the Bladder Meridian in traditional Chinese medicine, gives me valuable information about areas I may want to revisit later in the treatment.

But first, we slow down.

We listen.

We allow the horse time to respond.

Because before we ask the body to change, we want to create the conditions in which the horse can feel safe enough to let go.

This is where EFTR® begins.

A scar is more than what we see on the surface.

Scar tissue can influence the mobility and function of surrounding tissues, including the fascia.

But working with scar tissue requires more than simply applying pressure. It takes an understanding of anatomy, tissue response, and the ability to recognise what the horse is communicating.

This is one of the specialised hands-on techniques taught within the Equine Fascia Trauma Release (EFTR) Practitioner Pathway at Liza Kimble Academy.

Learn to understand what you're feeling, why you're working with it, and when intervention is appropriate.

What is the horse actually responding to?

Our hands? Our intention? Our emotional state? Our nervous system? Or something we have yet to fully understand?
Join **Dr. Susan Fay and Liza Kimble** for a fascinating conversation exploring the space where their work intersects.

Drawing from Dr. Fay’s research and work in psychology, trauma, energetic awareness and the horse-human relationship, and Liza’s experience observing physical, fascial and nervous system responses through EFTR®, they’ll explore what may be happening beneath the techniques we use with horses.

The conversation will explore regulation, trauma and previous experience, the state of the human, Susan’s En Pointe Four Questions Process, and the sometimes challenging subject of energy and frequency.

Where does the science currently take us?

What can we observe in the horse?

And what are we still trying to understand?

An open conversation between two professionals approaching the horse from very different perspectives, with one shared goal: To listen more closely to what the horse is telling us.

The wait is over: the EFTR® Practitioner Certification is officially open for registration, and we're excited to finally share the full structure, dates and details with you.

EFTR®’s NEW REVISED STRUCTURE
Equine Fascia & Trauma Release is a progressive practitioner training programme developed by Liza Kimble, bringing together fascia, anatomy, the autonomic nervous system, trauma-informed awareness and practical fascial work with horses. It is one complete four-level pathway, comprising eight modules, online theory, compulsory in-person practicals, 100 case-study sessions, Equine Anatomy & Physiology and a Final Practitioner Assessment.

THE FOUR LEVELS
Level 1, Foundation (Modules 1 to 2): fascia fundamentals, tensegrity and trauma-informed observation.
Level 2, Development & Connection (Modules 3 to 4): the nervous system, trauma, and fascia as a sensory system.
Level 3, Application & Growth (Modules 5 to 6): regulation, whole-body connection, and the start of the advanced practical phase with Liza personally.
Level 4, Integration (Modules 7 to 8): advanced whole-body work, the Reconnective Technique and the EFTR® Closing Ceremony.

Modules 1 to 5 are taught by Liza live online, with practical training delivered by our Regional EFTR® Trainers. Modules 6 to 8 are completed personally with Liza during her annual advanced intensive in your training region.

A FULLY INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY
The Academy now delivers regional practical training across South Africa, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Germany. You can meet Liza and the full teaching team, including our Regional Trainers, here: https://lizakimble.com/meet-the-team/

EQUINE ANATOMY & PHYSIOLOGY
We've partnered with Ivana Ruddock-Lange of Equine Anatomy in Layers to bring her Equine A&P course to all EFTR® students on the pathway at a discounted rate, issued via an Academy discount code at the start of Level 2.

Active Equine Fascia Somatics Community members of 3+ consecutive months receive 15% off Levels 3 and 4 when purchased individually. Previous EFTR® training is reviewed individually. If this applies to you, the registration form includes a short questionnaire.
