📚✨ GrowSmart Literacy Competition – Round 2 ✨📚

Yesterday, Saturday, 5 September, our three talented Grade 6 learners — Zulaygha Darries, Chaznea Fisher and Kiarah Alfestus — proudly represented Firgrove Primary School in the second round of the GrowSmart Literacy Competition. 🏆📖

Competing against learners from six other schools, our learners showed incredible dedication, confidence and a true love for literacy. We are thrilled to announce that Firgrove Primary School has successfully progressed to the Semi-Finals! 🎉👏

The Semi-Finals will take place on 10 October 2026. We are incredibly proud of our learners and all the hard work they have put in to reach this stage. 🌟

A special thank you to Mrs. Ziegers and her dedicated team for their guidance, preparation and support. 💐

🏏 Cricket at Firgrove Primary School 🏏

We are excited to share that cricket has officially started at Firgrove Primary School!

Our learners had a wonderful first practice session, filled with energy, teamwork and enthusiasm. It was great to see both girls and boys taking part, learning new skills and enjoying the game together.

A special thank you to Mr. Kruger and Mr. Boonzaaier for their time, guidance and commitment in getting cricket started at our school. Your dedication gives our learners another opportunity to grow, participate and discover their talents beyond the classroom.

We look forward to seeing our young cricketers develop their skills, confidence and love for the sport.

Life Orientation Career Club 2026
Exploring pathways. Inspiring futures.

Firgrove Primary School was proud to host our Life Orientation Career Club on Wednesday 27 May 2026, where learners had the valuable opportunity to explore various career paths, engage with professionals, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the many possibilities available to them.

We were honoured to welcome learners from Firgrove Primary School, Oklahoma Street Primary School, and St. Paul’s Primary School as part of this meaningful career development experience.

A heartfelt thank you to all our presenters who generously shared their time, knowledge, experience, and passion with our learners:
