This Saturday we’ll be selling various items from the beloved kitchen of Passion Cookery School 🩷

My mom spent so many years cooking, teaching, and sharing her love for food in this kitchen. Many of these pieces were part of the classes, the recipes, and the memories made here over the years. I’d love for them to find new homes where they can continue to be used and enjoyed.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Janet Le Roux, the heart and soul behind Passion Cookery School.

Janet was more than an exceptional chef, she was a passionate teacher, a mentor, and a truly special human being. Cooking was never just about food for her, it was her way of connecting with people. She poured herself into every class, sharing not only her knowledge, but her warmth, her humour, and her love for life.

Her kitchen was a place where people came to learn, but left with so much more. Janet taught confidence, patience, and the joy of creating something with your own hands. She formed genuine connections with her students, and her classes were filled with conversation, laughter, and care.

She loved what she did, and she loved sharing her passion with everyone who walked through her doors.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported her and were part of her journey at Passion Cookery School.

To my beautiful Passion Cookery family,

After many years of cooking together, celebrating together and sharing so many precious memories, it is time for me to step back. Many of you already know that I have been facing some health challenges this year. Because of this, I need to slow down and focus fully on my well-being.

This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make. Passion Cookery has been my happy place for so long. It has brought me joy, purpose and the most incredible people. But I know this is the right time for me to hand it over to someone who can give it the energy and love it deserves.

After a long break due to my cancer journey, my kitchen is alive again — filled with laughter, learning, and the wonderful smell of freshly baked treats.

Over the past weeks, I’ve slowly started welcoming students back — some who’ve been patiently waiting since early this year, and new faces who’ve joined with such excitement and passion. Today’s baking lesson reminded me once again why I love what I do.

Teaching, sharing, and watching others discover their own joy in the kitchen truly keeps my heart full. I’m deeply grateful for the support, understanding, and encouragement I’ve received through this time.

Here’s to strength, second chances, and sweet new beginnings. 💕
