The colour coding is required for lap timing and also assists with marshalling. The lane colours are yellow, green, blue and red. The lap timing system is computer based and provides the following information:
1) total laps completed per driver
2) fastest lap time per driver
3) overall position of each driver on conclusion of the race
The computer system is accurate to within 1000th of a second
Race format:
Each race is run with a maximum of 4 drivers per heat. The drivers are allocated a lane by race control at the start of the heat. From this point onwards the computer is in control. The race is divided into four segments of 3 minutes each resulting in a heat of 12 minutes, excluding lane changes. This means that the drivers compete on all four lanes of the track. The objective is to complete as many laps in each of the segments as possible. At the end of the heat, the driver with the most laps is the winner of the particular heat. Drivers are grouped in various heats according to their overall position in which they ended at the previous event held at the club, in each class. After all the heats have been completed the computer ranks the drivers from first to last, based on the total laps completed after all the heats have been concluded for each class. Classes:
