đ¨ Pet Sitter Safety Tip:
You often enter clientsâ empty homes during early morning or evening hours, so itâs important to be cautious when you arrive for pet-sitting visits (any time of the day).
đ If an unexpected vehicle or person is in a clientâs driveway when you arrive for your visit, do not stop and get out.
âď¸ Call your client to see if they expected anyone at their home. If they did not (or you canât reach the client), contact local law enforcement (and do not go back to the home until they have arrived and determine it is safe for you to enter).
đŞ Be sure to look for any open or broken doors or window when you arrive. While your first thought will likely be to run inside and check on the pets if you see damage to the home, you should leave the premises, notify the client, and alert local law enforcement (and again, not return to the home until it has been determined itâs safe to do so).
đ Also remember to lock the doors of your vehicle once you exit it, and then also lock the doors of the clientâs home behind you once you enter for the visit.
đžWhile you are on the visit (or dog walk), always keep your keys and phone with you. This ensures you have quick access to both in the event of an emergency and also prevents you from accidentally locking yourself out of the clientâs home!

Pet Sitter Testimonial 29/05/2026
Hi PSI SA (Leigh).
I just picked up my third pet sit this week from Bark.com. Apparently, I'm coming up in the top four. Total expected value to date: +- R 8000.00 coming in June.
Being L1 certified with my exclusive PSI logo is what's bringing in the leads. God is good.
I highly recommend all pet sitters that are serious about service and avoiding mistakes take this LEEP of getting certified via https://petsitterinstitutesa.co.za/
PS ... I am always looking for certified L1 pet sitters to share some of my excess assignments in Centurion - Zwartkop, Wierda Park, and Clubview surrounds.
